Having booked in for part of our honeymoon I did expect a great experience. Looking at the website I envisaged us looking over the water but found we were in the little building behind the twin towers. We could see a small section of water between the twin towers and a pine tree. Spoke to the lady on the desk and said I expected that we would have a better view. She asked if I could see the water, I said yes, she said “well that’s water views” The tv was broken and the man went out of his way and replaced it. So many bad reviews about this place, just look and you will see. The ads whilst not illegal are misleading and unethical. I would expect that my review will receive there standard, defensive reply but general opinion states outerwise. Beware.

Average condition, weird message. Like you need to empty your own bins and make sure all the dishes are cleaned, otherwise you could be charged an extra $90 I wont be going back.

car parking. when i parked i could not open the car doors to get out.after. gotng to recepion was told they were fully booked and advised me to park accross the the road in the public car park. when i returned after being out to dinner at 10pm i checked the carpark and counted 38 empty spaces i.was not impressed being lied to. otherwise ok.

Thanks for your feedback but the parking issue was just a simple misunderstanding. We meant you could park in the 2nd lane just outside Reception if you felt more comfortable than in the basement and not across the road. We did not lie to you as we were full that night. Some of the car parks in the basement are private and not for our guests which may help to explain the empty spaces. Hope to have you stay again.

Very dated. New carpet but the couches could really do with a good steam clean. Tv on its way out with a line through it and bathroom lighting is very dim. We were not asked how our stay was or would have communicated this direct. Brilliant location and lovely partial sea views

Beautiful views very happy with that. The bed and the sofa were very comfortable. Easy excess to stairs etc .the bathroom is pretty dated and ceiling fan very dusty. the room was for 4 people but there were only 2 glasses of each also 2 teaspoons an 2 knives.and 2 face cloths

Room was beach facing so was nice - warm and comfortable. Area is beautiful and lots of choices for food and walks. I found the parking underneath extremely tight, had a pole to work around and roof is very low. I didn't like the mirror in the headboard of my bed! and the shower could have been cleaner as there was mould on the joinery inside the cubicle.

Thank you for taking the time to write a fantastic review! Unfortunately some of the basement car parks are rather awkward but we do have an onsite outdoor option if you would have preferred. Our team did a thorough check of the shower and it was just wear and tear; not mould. Hope to see you again.

Friendly clean and tidy. The only thing I would like to mention is the slamming doors coming in from pool areas. Some soft closing doors would be great. Every time someone enters or exits the building our room shook and pictures rattled.

Overall experience was nice. The location is convenient and the property has parking in a secured basement. The property is definitely outdated and will need some upgrades.

Great Location close to shops and the Mount. Friendly staff. The downside was the pool was closed the whole time we stayed there and Front Desk didn’t know who to contact about it. Luckily Mount Hot pools is just a few steps away.

Love the location, at the bottom of the Mountain and close to Main Beach and Pilot Bay. Short stroll to the fantastic shopping area with lots of bars and restaurants too.

Dirty laundry left on ground from previous guest, holes in the walls, crumbs on the floor, stickers and markings on ceilings. Felt more like a unkept hostel; I expected more. Will not choose to stay in the future.

This is probably one of the worst hotels with a high star rating. It is dirty, very old, smells like urine and I’ve never stayed in old bedding before. It was unbelievably bad and a true ‘con’.. Do not stay here

You made a reservation for one person to obtain a discounted rate, yet two people occupied the room. Please ensure honesty in your dealings. Your feedback appears to be dishonest as well.

The location was amazing! Within a couple blocks you have the harbor or the beachfront; a few blocks down is a lovely park, lots of restaurants and shopping. Mt Maunganui hot pools and the mountain itself are right on your doorstep. Our room was large, great balcony, bathroom, and kitchen. I found that the front desk is not always manned, which is sometimes inconvenient. The drain in the shower was also a bit slow.

Really nice stay, nice big apartment. Easy checkin, great location for walking to beach, down to food spots or into town. Few things that could make it better - towels are worn and not fluffy, could do with a upgrade, curtains were light and not blockout so street lights and lights from other buildings made it harder to sleep.

Really disappointed by the condition of the room. The most frustrating part was the tv wasn’t working so no SkyTV to watch sport etc which we wanted on this rainy weekend. When we left they didn’t want to know and just said the manager is away on holiday so nothing can be done.

Thank you for your feedback. Our staff did try their best to rectify the issue with the TV and it turns out that the issue was due to an external upgrade that we weren't aware of. We sincerely apologise for this. We hope to have you stay again so you can completely enjoy your time with us.
