confort et belle vue sur le lac Taupo
Superbe "suite", avec un séjour immense et une terrasse donnant sur le magnifique lac Taupo. L'hôtel est opportunément séparé de la route par un grand parc, ce qui éloigne du bruit de la circulation. Parking gratuit au pied du bâtiment. Confort parfait dans les chambres et la salle de bain. Seul défaut : le check out est à 10 heures du matin (nous avons eu un sursis de 45 mn, mais peut-être parce que le mois d'août est la basse saison en Nouvelle Zélande...).

Une superbe vue sur le lac
La vue sur le lac et le mont Tongariro est superbe. La chambre est bien équipé et bien agencé. Je noterais que le bac à douche est un peu petit et que j'avais du mal à régler la température de l'eau. Système de robinet rotatif pas très pratique. Le personnel est très sympathique et serviable, aussi bien à l'accueil qu'au restaurant ou on y mange très bien d'ailleurs. Il y a un grand espace vert devant l'hôtel. La route étant éloignée, c'est très calme la nuit. J'ai apprécié la couverture chauffante.

We stayed for 3 nights for a leisure trip. The bistro was closed for refurbishment but there’s heaps of good places around to eat, within easy walking distance. A free car park right outside our door was appreciated. The staff were lovely. We stayed in May, so the temperature outside was cool, but the heat pump worked perfectly in the room. Only thing that could be improved really would be a heated towel rail, but that’s not necessary.

Area and view from the room was amazing and the staff are all super friendly and helpful, all my interactions with staff were excellent. Only a few minor things lowered my rating. The shower doors were slightly broken and didn’t quite close properly, so a lot of water got out onto the floor. Also some of the towels had stains on them.

Great location. Quiet. Great restaurant. Friendly staff. Only criticism would be no tea or coffee provided in the room.

We were quite disappointed with our stay. At $340 a night it was up there with 3 luxury hotels we stayed in and was nowhere near comparable. The amenities were extremely basic especially the bathroom. There just didn’t seem to be any care or love. Very expensive for what was on offer.

It's a nice update of what looks like an older motel. The "suite" room was nice, but small, with a balcony and view of the lake. Bathroom also small. Restaurant looked nice, but unable to use as listed hours and stated hours at check-in were incorrect. Our check-in was confusing - initially appeared our room was not available or had been allocated to someone else, and we received incorrect information about restaurant hours. Signage and the duty manager both informed us our included breakfast was available starting at 7am, however when we went to breakfast at 715am we were coldly informed it actually opens later. As we had a drive to proceed with, we ate elsewhere and got on the road. Alas, such service is par for the course in New Zealand, where service is usually underwhelming to adequate.

Great hidden secret in Taupo by the lake
Location was great, as we have a tesla, and having to charge the vehicle, the EV charging station was less than 1 minute walk away. Although the outside front of the building looked tired, and could use a bit of planting or a bit more privacy to be created, the inside of the room was a contradiction, it was spotless and clean and very comfortable, really enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking over the lake towards the mountains both in the evening and when having a coffee in the morning, The restaurant food was good, whereas ALAN who was on the reception when we arrived was just amazing. Thank you SUNCOURT we will be back
