Since there are only two lodging options available, I was happy that we got a room and didn't have to sleep in our car. The $280 room had heat, two beds and a shower with hot water - what more could you want? It felt like we had gone back to the era when these were built, so it was cute and kitschy in that way. I wish we could have afforded the other lodge that was closer to $450/night. The people working at Yosemite seem like they are beyond sick of dealing with tourists, which is understandable, but they might need a reassignment to get some fresh faces who appreciate representing the greatest National Park in the US. There was a young woman working at the restaurant who rudely berated an older man working the line for plating a muffin instead of putting it in styrofoam for the customer. The scenery made up for the obviously unhappy workers and bare-boned accommodations.
