My wife and I travel a lot and stay at very fine resorts but we have never had a stay as incredible as we had at this home. The view was the best we have ever experienced. We had a family of 12 and everyone had their best vacation ever. The island really pairs well with a VRBO stay. The owners and property manager were so helpful to ensure that our stay was the best possible. I really can't say enough about how much our entire family enjoyed our stay.
A group of 15 family and friends joined my husband and me in St. Thomas at this fantastic villa to celebrate my 70th birthday. Every couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. The common eating area was open air with lovely plants in abundance. Several indoor and outdoor seating areas provided ample opportunity for conversation as well as privacy. The manager lives on property and gave us a great tour of the villa upon arrival and was responsive when we ran out of propane during breakfast preparations one morning. My only concern was that the email with information about entering the property had names and phone numbers of people who no longer work there. The āguestbookā I received by text subsequently was very helpful and should be printed and made available for everyone to look at.Highly recommend!
My family stayed at the villa for a week and overall had a very nice time. The rooms are what we expected based on the pictures - clean but furniture a little run down. The price was very high but we enjoyed the pool, quiet neighborhood and proximity to nice beaches. A few pieces of feedback:- We ran out of water during our stay - recommend making clear in the listing that guests will be expected to conserve water. - Property needs more lighting to get to the lower bedrooms - very dark in the evenings to return to the bedrooms and felt a little unsafe. - We felt rushed to leave on the last day, as cleaning crew arrived 2 hours before check-out and waited on-site for us to depart.
Spirit on the Water is a magical villa. Our group has travelled to numerous locations for our annual business meeting event but no other place compares. The accommodations, location and beauty are spectacular. there are large open spaces both inside and out. The pool is fantastic. We love it.
Our group consisted of 19 business partners. The villa provided several opportunities for meeting space in a variety of settings. The views are fantastic and the property is terrific. If we could make one improvement it would be to have better wi-fi service but this is a common challenge when traveling to unique private and secluded locations. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
Very nice experience, as a family. Room to spread out. The property manager was attentive and helpful. The pool is unheated - be prepared for the "polar plunge" and the kitchen appliances need updating. The beds could use new mattress pads and linens. You need to like cats.. alot!!
One of the most amazing, unique stays Iāve ever had! Thank you to Earl for helping out with all of our needs throughout our stay. Book without hesitation!
Just finished a 4 night stay at Spirit on the Water with 7 couples. The communal space and views makes this home very special. There is so much privacy and each couple had their own space. Special shout out to Tanner and DiAnn Love who took care of us from booking to the minute we left. Highly recommend for group!
We were a group of 8 adults and 8 children. The children range in age 18 months to 13 years old. The home was perfect for our group. Spacious and enough beds and baths for everyone.
Huge, beautiful home with breathtaking view of ocean, sunset, and sunrise. Fully equipped with everything you need to cook, sleep, shower, or just relax and do nothing. Loved it and would definitely return. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Our host was so accommodating and kind. Anything we needed was there or was sent for for us. What an amazing view to wake up to and go to sleep to everyday. I would definitely recommend this property for a fun group if people.
WOW WOW WOW! WHERE do I even BEGIN? I am still in la-la land & I've been home for 4 days. Spirit On The Water is by far the most special place I have ever stayed with my family - My husband & son. We had the time of our lives in the Virgin Islands. We woke up, enjoyed SOTW & the gorgeous infinity pool. You feel as if you're floating cliffside, in a pool, but in the ocean. It's incredible! The villa was gorgeously decorated with so much uniqueness & love. The colors were happy, vibrant, & you can tell there are so many special memories in this place. I literally did not want to leave!!! We hopped around St. Thomas & St. John & the book of recommendations were so helpful! Diann & Chaz were so helpful & resourceful during our stay & I feel like I will stay in touch for life! We were able to ask them so many questions & contribute towards some of their additional services which helped us save time & enjoy our vacation versus going to the grocery. Tanner was incredible to work with in regards to getting all booked & my many questions. He acted with such urgency & was so accommodating. Everyone was just incredible & whomever is reading this review - PLEASE KNOW YOU ARE STAYING IN A ONE-OF-KIND place that is truly magical & irreplaceable. It has wonderful privacy where it's located as well as the home's layout. It is huge! The outdoor private shower that overlooks the water was one of my very favorites. The pictures are amazing but do not do it justice. We WILL BE BACK AGAIN! Thank you June & your team for having such love for us & for SOTW. My son think's he's a famous celebrity ;) AND my husband & I were able to take a step back from our career's & demands & enjoy simple beauty. TRUELY A GEM!

It is a trip that will never be forgotten. Our group had a blast , house were very clean. Accommodations were great, my group are still talking about the experience of this trip
Great location, very comfortable. Niko, property manager, was helpful and friendly - their recommended driver, Carol, was great. Recommended for a large group.
My wife and I brought a group of friends with us to Spirit on the Water (SOTW) for a much needed post-COVID vacation (we were all fortunate to be vaccinated early). We had an amazing time at SOTW. We had a smaller group (11ppl), so there was an enormous amount of unused space. If we could have brought more ppl, the price point would have been perfect.
The place is as nice as the YouTube video looks (check it out on the listing if you haven't yet). The infinity pool overlooking the ocean is gorgeous. The large courtyard was a great dining area for our group, we only used 1 of the 2 long tables, so double the ppl would be easily supported.
If you are going to stay for more than a few days (which I would recommend doing), you should rent cars instead of doing taxis. This place is a little off the beaten path (which adds to the charm), and renting cars made our excursions much more hassle-free. Amazing beaches and ferries to the other islands are a 20min drive away.
The house is a perfect mix of nature and comfort. Each bedroom has its own AC which kept us plenty cool when we slept at night.
Special shoutout to Niko who was an awesome host while we were there! Hit me up if you ever make your way to North Carolina!
This property was absolutely incredible. I can say for certain I have never stayed anywhere quite so beautiful as Spirit on the Water. The property is so spacious with room for every guest to spread out and have their own space but with a common area large enough for everyone to gather together. Further, Niko and Nick were incredibly helpful during our stay! We absolutely loved them and will absolutely be returning.
I stayed with a group of friends and it was absolutely amazing. Even more magical than the pictures and video make it look. We all constantly stopped and looked at each other to say "I'm so happy right now!" It is a little isolated so having Nick and Nico around to help organize transportation was huge. There are other houses with amazing views, but I don't think there are any options that have such an expansive panorama without another manmade structure in sight.
You will not be disappointed in booking this stunning property! We throughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning. The property is every spread out and each location offers something unique and different. Excellent for entertaining large group. The infinity pool was most enjoyable and you cannot beat the magnificent
views!
Our family of four (kids 13 and 10) just returned from a 10 day stay at Spirit on the Water. It was wonderful! The views are breathtaking and the pool area can't be beat. The house is uniquely designed and is a special creative space where you can relax and unwind.
It's just a short drive to Red Hook and Magen's Bay, where we spent quite a bit of time - so once you get used to the drive to the house it's very easy to get around. The hike close to the house is worth the trek too.
June and Ed are lovely people and are there if you need something, but also allow you to have your privacy.
We'd return in a heartbeat!
After reading the reviews of this property, we thought it sounded great - unfortunately we were wrong. Yes, the views are spectacular and the pool is great. However, there were more negatives than positives: apparently the owners had 15 family members staying with them while we were there and we didn't realize from the description of the house that we would share a glass wall with the owners outdoor kitchen and courtyard - where the family spent most of their time. So, unfortunately, what happened during our stay left a sour taste in all our mouths. We wanted this to be a spectacular vacation with our adult children and it turned into a nightmare. Here are some highlights: a child wondered into our bedroom looking for their clothes just as I was getting out of the shower (with a towel wrapped around me - thank God), one of their dogs kept jumping into the pool which led to people trying to get the dog out of the pool, the noise level from their side was outrageous, my son and his wife woke very early each morning to noisy children and family squabbles, someone playing the music a little too loud, etc. The dogs did greet us each time we left and came back - by barking at us. The winding stairs and circuitous walk to your living area, insufficient hot water, no locks on the exterior doors, the grill didn't work (nor the TV in the living room). One of our party had to be taken to urgent care because of a serious allergic reaction to one of the roaming cats, one person had diarrhea for 2 days (not sure what that was from), and another person left 2 days early; and our son was almost eaten alive by mosquitos. Also, don't say in your description that the "yoga" deck is part of the package because I was told that it was for the owner's use but we could use it if they weren't using it. I'm assuming that it would have been quieter if they didn't have all of their children and grandchildren there but we PAID for peace and serenity or whatever other adjectives are used in the description and it turned out to be like living in a COMMUNE. I doubt if this will find its way to the website reviews but my husband and I had to have our say. It's not what you expect and let me not forget the "sewer" smell inside the house from the house manager watering the plants on their side of the "wall" with grey water that was used from the rinse cycle of the washing machines. It turned from a "once in a lifetime vacation" with our children into a nightmare and we paid high
