Air was not working. In first or second room ..they tried to give me the run around crap..the maintenance person will fix yes he came but still no air and it was very hot in the room with 4 people..they never offered a fan even wen i told them the room had reached 79 degrees..i had to act out to get a fan..wen it should of been offered..they said they would deduct one night off.. and all fees.. thats not wat they did. I got charged 15.00 on my card for what i cant tell you when all fees should of been gone for my very uncomfortable stay...
AC vibration in the first room was so loud that we had to ask for another. The wall was vibrating.
Second room had a broken AC, 78° in there.
Third room "upgrade" was identical to the first two, but a view of the neighborhood instead of the roof. The AC worked, but the pillowcases weren't on the pillows yet, just lying on tge bed as if housekeeping got distracted.
Stay here a lot for my spouses visits to BJH. So easy for hospital stays, AppleBees is great to have and is attached to hotel. Always nice, clean and comfortable.
The property was clean, but I was disappointed that our room looked directly into a parking garage. This room shouldâve been discounted for this. Otherwise it was a nice stay.
The location is excellent. Short walk to the Metro. The room was nice and clean, hallway clean and nice fresh smell. The only negative, had to ask for towels the second night of stay
Room was large, clean , nice, looked like halls and room carpets have been recently renovated. Parking was easy . Room staff was good. However front desk / management was understaffed, ambivalent (1 with two or more others sitting in office chatting, customers waiting) on four occasions we had to interface . Homeless hang in the drop off drive panhandling or in our case person said they were a valet and asked to take our bags and car. Almost did it as person was dressed in black shirt and pants and hat , until upon handing him a bag we recognized he was NOT a valet. We locked the car to ck in and get a garage pass. We told the front desk clerk whoâs tag said supervisor, about the man posing as a valet, he did not acknowledge or respond at all and just went about cking us in. Bizarre, like he was tired of hearing about it. There was a guard in the lobby the one night we walked in after 11pm but she was on the couch speaking with others. They have restricted the entrance to half the entry doors working. Never felt threatened but definitely head was on a swivel as upon every exit or entry to the hotel panhandlers were present. Better management and focus on guest safety would add a star. If going to Barnes location is ideal .
Every time we stay the showers are horrible, I could not get the shower head to work in 306, also no ice on floor.. also at that price breakfast should be free or cheaper, what happened to continental???
We had a late check in, and I guess it was a bridge too far to expect a modicum of civility. She was rude and insulting. I wear hearing aids and she was a bored, low talker. I told her I couldnât hear her. She would not change the volume of her voice, and then ignored me and spoke only to my spouse. She then gave us a room next to the ice machine, and offered no cookies.
I recently stayed at the hotel and I was concerned the reviews were less than gracious. But I have to say that the staff was extremely pleasant. They went out of their way to see that we were safe and we werenât bothered the rooms were clean. I was there for a surgery in the hospital next to it and I couldnât have asked for any better situation. All I had to do was walk next-door. I agree that the panhandlers in the area are less than attractive, but that St. Louis theyâre gonna gravitate to where the money is in the hopes of taking a few dollars off of you or a cigarette basically it is if you want to smoke go downstairs let the security guard know theyâll tell you where they can see you and if itâs in the evening, they frequently will just go out and stand with you. It only helps their reputation, but only take one or two cigarettes. Donât take the whole pack. You use a little common sense because all big cities are this way now I have to thank them very much and if I have to come over for more things. I will be staying there.
Stayed overnite for access to Barnes Dr visit. Very convenient, can use skywalk or just cross the street. Applebees is connected also and open late. Can also get room service from Applebees.
Loved the late check out time at noon and parking garage was easy access tho an addl $13/nite.
Mini store available in lobby but they didnât have many products. When I asked the front desk staff about the displayed listing on the desk of available items for purchase they stated that list hadnât been updated in years and they carried basically none of those items. I didnât really need anything but found it rather disappointing to hear this.
Stayed in corner suite and room was very nice and just what we expected. Blackout curtains couch, work area, 2 televisions with many streaming channel selections. Did not partake in breakfast which was available for $14pp.
Would stay again next time we have Dr appt and would recommend for stay as is nice location, clean, friendly staff and comfortable.
