« Superbe hotel,très joli,très bon restaurant,seul soucis avec la chambre,nous étions directement sous les toits et il faisait une temperature irrespirable,a cause de la chaleur inhabituelle »

« There was not tea and coffee in the room only milk. We did not notice till we was back to the room at 11pm, we messaged the hotel but did not receive a reply, we thought there might have bee some outside our room in the morning but no. We still have not had a reply 4 days later. »

« Very nice room. Comfy bed. TV reception not great but weather was poor so could be the reason. Room was cold but on searching found a heater in the wardrobe. Lovely staff and great food in the evening. Good breakfast and they accommodated us for an early breakfast as we had a 6 hour drive home and wanted to leave early. »

« We stayed with our young son for 3 nights in July 2024. The staff were absolutely lovely, so welcoming and helpful with everything we needed and great with interacting with our young son. The food - breakfast and dinner - is truly incredible with nothing too much trouble. The only downside we experienced really was that we were in a room on the top floor which, while the room had clearly been hoovered etc, it was dusty in places with lots of cobwebs - while we don't mind spiders, we removed...

« We stayed here for a couple of nights for a long weekend exploring the Yorkshire Wolds. The location is great, being close to a few larger towns like Driffield and Pocklington, but also close to some amazing walking including a stretch of the Yorkshire Wolds Way. The room was really lovely, the staff friendly, and the food and beer fantastic. We will definitely stay again when we're next out this way! »

« Huge room with everything I would need for an overnight stay. Plenty of tea, coffee, and toiletries. Room was spotlessly clean and I had a great night's sleep in the comfortable bed. As a lone traveller, I was made to feel really welcome and would definitely return. »

« Room 7 decent size...very comfy bed, moderate shower. Good tea and coffee making facilities....excellent breakfast. Property in need of a refurbishment.....old windows that i think in winter will let in a lot of cold air. All staff i met were friendly and helpful. Probably would stay again at the price level. »

« A lovely stay at the Royal Oak for one night. Very friendly and attentive staff. They were more than happy to arrange late access to the property due to us having to return to the room late at night. Breakfast was excellent, with options for full English or kippers, plus plenty of toast, cereals, fruit, yoghurt. The car park is very small, and can't accommodate all vehicles, however there is ample parking on the road at the front of the property. The room was comfortable with clean linens....
