Sudbury Rowing Club hold their annual Regatta on Friars Meadow on the first Saturday of August each year.

Little Maplestead is a village in the Braintree district of N Essex, 8 miles NE of Braintree itself. The Parish Church, originally a chapel of The Knights of St. John of Jerusalem -
Knights Hospitallers. Built Circa 1340, largely rebuilt 1849-55. It is one of only few medieval round churches in England now.

Christmas time at Pebmarsh, a gem of a village, lying in the glorious area of Essex countryside northeast of Halstead. The parish can boast several Tudor farms and houses, but the church has many older treasures including a brass dating from the 1300s. There are believed to be only about 16 surviving from this early date and this one depicts Sir William Fitzralph who fought in the wards of Edward I against the Scots.
