Stayed at The RIU Palace Punta Cana Safe. Buffet is good. Special restaurant dining is horrible! We had 6 rooms for our party. Each one had an issue: no air, no fan, shower stalls not properly sealed so the bathroom gets flooded. Coffee area not ckeaded each day, water bottle seals broken and tampered with (not sure if they are refilled). If you're in Punta Cana to party in a hot swim up pool bar with no room to move...this is the place for you! Did like tue fitness optiins but they are really not "fitness". All in all you get what you pay for and definitely a good option in Punta Cana.

The staff at the buffet was excellent, extremely friendly. the food itself was not that great. The grounds were pretty, the water was beautiful but the seaweed needs to be picked up. I would stay here again.

We overall liked our stay at Riu Palace Punta Cana. The staff was great with the exception of one person we ran into. The food quality and choice was great. All resort areas and the beach are kept very clean. Two things, however, made our stay far from perfect. We had a baby (and a stroller) with us and our room was on the 4th floor. The closest elevator worked for about 5 days out of 14 that we were there. We had to carry the stroller with the baby up and down the stairs quite a lot. And the second aspect was the most disappointing. We realized there's stealing going on at the beach. We had a pair of shoes and expensive sunglasses stolen when we went to swim. The security person just told us that we should not leave any items of value laying in plain sight. We’ve been coming to DR for many years and this has never been a problem until this trip.

What I like about this property is that there’s always someone approaching you with drinks and food is always available. Drinks can be better but ok. Breakfast buffet and dinner is the best. For front desk they’re some unpleasant people upfront, first we got there thinking the room will be ready it was not, eventually we grab a bite because we were hungry then go back they assigned us a room which I booked a for four people, double bed I was given a king side and a baby crib. Then they finally changed it. Call rooms service 3 times they ignored us to refill us with water and stuff in the fridge. Which was supposed to be a 24hr service. That can be better as well as the water down drinks.

The room was extremely dirty, with a strong and unmistakable odor of cat urine. Additionally, there was an issue with visitors, as they were not allowed to enter without prior permission or payment for a day pass. This made me feel like a prisoner, constantly having to ask for permission despite being an adult. These factors led me to give the place a rating of 2 stars.

The property was beautiful. The parties were so fun. The food and drink were average but we would go again. 7.5/10 Also this is a family friendly resort. There are plenty of things for kids to do more than the adults actually. If you like to party, this is the resort for you!

My only criticism is that the food at a couple of the restaurants was not good at all. Plus the restricted hours for lunch and dinner were difficult to manage, especially since a few evenings we could not get into the restaurants of choice because there was already too many people on the waiting list..they should stay open longer if this is the case.

The Property was big, beautiful, grass and such was maintained plus there were many options for activities, but the dining selections could have been better especially at the pool and room service selections. Most importantly, Staff needs to be trained on the urgency of medical attention. Literally (2) two people passed out around the pool area and medical attention did not report to them for at least 20- 25 minutes. It was a bit traumatic swimming at the pool and these people were unresponsive and no urgency to transport them away from the pool. Also, the room should have been cleaned properly. You saw hair in the drain, the sink was still full of soap and toothpaste scum and the toilet looked like it wasn't sanitized before the new room assignment. Plus, the toilet was clogged multiple nights, and my friends and other guest reported this same issue with clogged toilets and unclean areas.

We stayed at Riu Palace. The property is beautiful, I had a spatious, clean room. The airconditioning is rather weak, but I am not one to like a really cold room, so I was fine with it. My sister, who had another room with her husband, had to change rooms twice. The first one had a broken airconditioner, plus the room smelled like mold. The next room's airconditioner also broke after 2 days. The third room was OK. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating with the room changes. The grounds are amazing, so are the pools, bars and a very friendly and efficient staff. The buffet style food was very good. What stands out to me most is the number of service/staff people. They are everywhere and very friendly. I recommend this facility.
