Room smelled. Bathroom was not clean. Hair all over floor and toilet. Only one staff member working so it couldn’t be addressed. Hotel was full so couldn’t change rooms. Nice location but hotel needs updating. Stay somewhere newer…in my opinion.

I had a horrible stay. One parking spot available on premise that I had to squeeze my car in between a dumpster and another car. Hotel staff was on couch sleeping when I walked in and did not wake up for 20 minutes of me being there to try to check in. Building smelled horrible and then my room was even worst. The room smelled of old paint and smoke, very musky and hard to breathe in room.

I thought that the cleanliness was below average (they need new towels for sure) the beds were comfortable as were the pillows. I was surprised to find that half of the channels didn’t work (no Netflix function to log into) overall I think they just need to upgrade the hotel for modern amenities and renovate a little bit. They should get newer tvs and outlets (they were older and loose) and our door was “peeling” and starting to form into two pieces. The shower was fine.

Hotels.com and the hotel itself promise breakfast. Unfortunately we relied on that promise and it was not delivered. We asked at check in about breakfast and were told it was being served. The next morning it was not. When we asked, we were told they would get back to us on when it would return. We asked 3 more times with no answer. The next day, we were told the breakfast staff was off and it would be served the following morning. In the end, there was no breakfast provided. There was a dead fly stuck to the wall of our shower, hair alol over the walls in the bathroom, and the handle of the shower fell off and hit my son. When we asked for housekeeping, we did not receive it until the last day (5 day stay). When we contacted hotels.comb& the hotel for compensation we were told they would not do anything to help us because we booked a non refundable room. Apparently this also means that they are able to fail to provide any of the basic amenities they promise at this hotel.

I have stayed here multiple times. I found it adequate and pleasant in the past. Since the change in management, i am not impressed. The breakfast is not as good. Today, the coffee machine was not working properly. There was no half and half available as there has been in the past. The scrambled eggs were patties.There are no longer face clothes in the rooms and the showers don’t drain well. I love the location, but i feel like i need to find a new go to place in Poughkeepsie.

'Meh' in Poughkeepsie
The hotel was fine but definitely not as the pictures portrayed. There was no bar and the room was VERY bare. The carpet was a little sticky. Unfortunately for us the TV in the suite didn't work. I will say that the Tub with jets was great. Also, it was New Years Eve when we stayed. Thus, while the front desk was pleasant they were unable to help us with our TV issue.

The check-in took forever, I dont know what the problem was. The Travelocity standard room said Views, however the room I was given had no views, only of the street. Plus at 5:30 am I could hear traffic, suffered thru that for a couple of hours. The hallways probably need new carpet as there is smoking odors. I liked the tub/shower. Oh the TV remote needed new batteries, had to get lobby attendant to fix that. Actually quiet inside the bldg. It could be beautiful, probably once was, needs updating.

The property curb appeal was not there. We had a difficult time understanding the clerk. When we opened the door of the building to go to our room there was a heavy smell of pot filling the hallway. I set the heat at 70, the temperature never got above 66. The sink drain was slow, which explains why there were whiskers still in it. The shower has little pressure and the hot water lasted about 5 minutes. We did ask for a room change but we were told that there were no more rooms available. Overall, the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in a very long time. I’ll stick with a different company.

The good, the bad and the ugly
This hotel is in a nice location. The bed was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered was just ok. The internet was mostly good but occasionally spotty. The door was warped - both the door into the room and the doors inside. The table was broken, there were no pillows for the pull out sofa, the towels are rough and thin, and I needed to get my room key fixed every day.
