Well situated property, quiet but with accessible transport links in to the city - regular buses at stops very close to the accommodation. The room was fairly standard, clean and spacious with a tub and rain shower. The Gamston Lock pub serves good food at reasonable prices, I would recommend booking as it is popular. Staff at both the pub and accommodation were pleasant and very helpful.

Shame that this place has gone down hill
We have stayed at the Gamston Lock on many occasions and always found it to be a decent place. However this time it had gone down hill dramatically. The room was dirty, hairs in the bath that we had to clean before we could use it, hairs under the toilet seat even in the sink and on the bedding. There was only one bath towels so one of us had to use a hand towel when we came out of the shower. The table in the room was dirty and in need of a good wipe. One of the cups was dirty and needed washing. The main automatic door in to the hotel area was broken and was left open all night even though there is no reception area or anyone to keep an eye on it. There was a coke bottle dumped in that area that was there for the duration. In the morning when we went to the restaurant for breakfast there was a huddle of staff in the corner of the restaurant, one of which was on a very loud video call with someone so the whole restaurant could hear. Someone decided to wash the floor in a busy thoroughfare through the toilets which made it absolutely lethal, regardless of whether they put a sign out, they should have been doing this before the restaurant opened.

MThank you for your review Sorry you felt the room was not to our normal standards.The main doors are waiting to be repaired and parts are on order, we have a night porter on from 10.30pm and 6.30am so the security of the building is safe We have to clean the pub while customer are in as we open at 7am for breakfast, and has you said we always ensure that wet floor signs are up as per health and safety regulations Terry and the Team

Fab family room, plenty of space even with two extra single beds. Good tea and coffee facilities. Room was very clean and well provided. Great breakfast on site, wonderful staff all round.

Fantastic value for money
We needed a night stop prior to an early hospital appointment and this great value option was the nearest accommodation. On the plus side, amazing value: free parking: adequate dining next door: fantastic free wifi: modern amenities in the room: quality tea and coffee. On the not so good side: a musty smell in the bathroom: bed OK, but not as comfortable as a Premier Inn: carpet and walls marked here and there: noise from surrounding room, but this is the norm in this type of accommodation.

Superb value for money
The nicest place I've stayed for a long time. The room was super clean and the bed was both mahooosive and comfy. The room also had really nice coffee, tea and biscuits. Excellent breakfast options with inclusions for both veggies and vegans.

The room was simple, nice and clean. Some scuffs on the walls but had everything you would want for an overnight stay. The price is very reasonable and the bed very comfy.

They hotel was clean and tidy. as a couple traveling in a double room we only had 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel. check in was in the reasturant next door. food was ok breakfast was cooked fresh and not out on the side to self serve. The hotel is on a main road with nothing really around. we didnt sind it noisey and we did taake the long walk into Nottingham centre. Taxi was £12 to get back.

Unable to adjust heating in our room. Quite chilly. No towel rail in bathroom despite notice advising us to hang our towels there. Liked the biscuits and availability of hot drinks in our room.
