We had a wonderful stay at the Rockhouse in this beautiful village. The house is centrally located on a quiet, atmospheric street, with free parking a five/ten minute walk away, and we were warmly welcomed in person. There is no air con in the Rockhouse so in the August heat we adjusted by using the fans and cooler parts of the property as needed. The courtyard was lovely for breakfast, dinner and quiet moments, and we loved relaxing on the terrace for breathtaking views to the coast as well as sightings of meteor showers at night. The house interiors are beautifully furnished and super-clean, and generously and well equipped with plenty of towels, tea towels, good kitchen knives, bathroom essentials and little luxuries, including wine and beer in the fridge. The cliff-top village itself is superb, with top-quality boulangeries minutes from the house, as well as independent grocers, Michelin-mentioned restaurants, artisan ice-cream, not too many gift shops and a great local market in the square on Wednesdays. Special mention to Le Chat Viré bar a minute away for a delicious selection of wine, beautiful local cheeses, great music and cool, friendly owner. We were glad to return to this special village after visiting heaving St Paul de Vence. We also enjoyed local walks, the Fondation Maeght, the Gorges du Loup and old Antibes - and tried and failed to see the Matisse Chapel (closed for the Assumption), violet museum and what looked a great exhibition in the mairie. Next time!
