Such a charming, magical place!
We had the most magical stay and really got away from it all. In our 10km walk from the hotel we saw two standing stone circles.

Gorgeous setting and lovely hotel. Very quiet when we were there which in many ways was excellent but at times it felt too quiet. The food was absolutely amazing and everything we ate was wonderful from afternoon tea to dinner to breakfast,

Magnificent, slightly remote hotel.
Lovely place in a quite remote location. Final approach is 2 miles of very narrow twisting road. Once arrived the welcome is second to none and service is first rate. Beautiful hotel with magnificent views provided you have a room situated in the front overlooking the gardens and river. Sadly the weather was quite wet but still managed to do some walking around the extensive grounds between heavy showers. Breakfast was very good and dinner excellent with limited but interesting choices and many additional extras. We recommend this hotel very highly.

Our stay at Gidleigh Park was extraordinary. I had never experienced the level of service offered or the professionalism of the staff. We felt welcomed and cared for as individuals. The meals were outstanding. I’m so glad I chose to stay there for part of our trip to England’s southwest, but every place after was a bit of a let down.

Fantastic weekend
Stayed over weekend for wife’s birthday and also for our first year wedding anniversary. The service was fantastic, the food incredible and the hotel itself was in impeccable condition. Couldn’t fault anything the whole weekend. If I could afford to go there every year I wouldn’t have a second thought about booking it!

Beautiful property. Room was very spacious , clean $ comfortable. Food was excellent at both dinner & lunch. Had a very pleasant one night stay although expensive but we knew that. The only thing bothered us was dog barking in the night . There was a dog staying right next door but don’t know if same dog. Would stay again but probably upstairs.

Gidleigh Park is a small slice of paradise. Chic rooms with modern bathrooms and all the amenities you need, a stunning location and grounds, delicious food, and fantastic, helpful staff. Perfection.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location
Gorgeous hotel in a stunning location in the Dartmoors (Chagford is a great little town too). Staff were all very welcoming and friendly and it was an incredibly relaxing stay. The only criticism I have is very minor and is that the restaurant service was a tad slow and a bit overpriced but we still had an excellent meal. I would definitely go back again!

My husband and I have traveled the world and have never been treated better. Be prepared for a very harrowing drive for the novice. Try to allow plenty of time to stay as the grounds are amazingly impeccable and wonderful!

Beautiful place but weak wifi
Very upscale and beautiful place but lacking in some respects for such a high end lodging. For example, the wifi was quite weak despite the fact that we stayed midweek and the hotel was far from full. Also there was no one to help us with our luggage to the car when we checked out. The grounds and property were very beautiful, and our welcome was very warm, plus they upgraded our room which was very nice. Except for the man who checked us out (who was not very friendly), the rest of the service was excellent.

Now I know how Princes live. Simply stunning in every department, and the staff are as good as anywhere I’ve ever stayed. The attention to detail from arrival to departure was wonderful and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The dining experience was A1. Cannot wait to revisit.
