I was excited when a deal from Expedia came up from Staypineapple, it was a property I was looking at! The location was great and convenient to Times Square, the train station, Hudson Yards, and the metro. But the rooms were insanely small. And trying to figure out what each room meant⊠Fashionista, Glamour, Cosmo, etc was hard.
We upgraded (or so I thought) to a Cosmo room. But you could not even walk around one side of the bed, and it was so low - it was like a hide-a-bed. It gave such a bad first impression. To spend so much to be in NYC...
But the bedding was very comfortable. And the bathroom was roomy enough. It was clean, and quiet!
I was also recovering from a broken elbow, so pushing up off the low bed was not something Iâd imagine I should have to inquire about. When I asked the gentleman at check out about that and if we were put in the right room, he said it was probably because we reserved from a third party vendor. That they donât give more room information. But the truth is I couldnât find anything more on Staypineappleâs site about the rooms. And the prices were definitely higher from them.
All in all, I am always pleased with Expedia. But our time at Staypineapple was disappointing. From the bare bones staff and lobby. To the rooms that are like the size of a large master bathroom. Hide-a-beds or murphy beds shouldnât be a given unless you ask- or are given a deal. I was not impressed with the property itself, unfortunately.
