Très bel hôtel, la chambre mansardée a un charme fou. Petit bémol: prendre une douche dans une salle de bain très mansardée est très sportif. J’ai adoré l’endroit et le personnel était très bien.

Quirky! but in a lovely way. The staff are amazing, the village / town is really quaint and incredible views from the castle. We will definitely return.

We stayed for one night, while travelling around Wales on motorbikes. Our room was on the second floor, up multiple flights of stairs, through many doors/corridors (eves and beams could be a hazard for taller people). The bar had a good selection of drinks and hotel breakfast was very tasty. The village was quiet with many old buildings which made for an interesting walk

lovely, comfy overnight stay
we decided to break our 200 mile journey (to Derbyshire,) in half - which was approximately Montgomery. I chose the Dragon because I like old places with character. we were not disappointed! as we are 76 and 80, our only problem was the narrow , winding stairs !! However, when we stay next time, we'll request a ground floor room !

Friendly quirky hotel
Iconic quirky little hotel with lots of character. Room under the eaves, and remembered to duck so didn’t bump my head. View of Town Hall clock, and lovely hearing the bells each hour. Comfortable room. Friendly efficient staff. Great service in the Bistro. Delicious food. Easy safe parking at the back of the hotel. Lovely stay.

A very happy stay at the Dragon.

Very old, quirky hotel in the centre of Montgomery. Rooms comfortable. Excellent food with breakfast being cooked to order. Very interesting area for walking. Would certainly recommend if staying in the area.

A great place for a quiet stay.
A lovely stay. Good food in the restaurant and breakfast was really nice too. I enjoyed having the pool to myself. We will be back.

As we were only staying for one night we booked a small room. The room was very clean, quiet and good value. We were made aware that the room was in the eaves, and as it's a very old building there are low beams and steep stairs. It's not ideal or those who struggle with stairs and low beams. The included breakfast and the evening meal we had there were well cooked and plentiful.

Great old property that was comfortable and served good meals. The only thing we didn't like was our room. It had a beam between the bedroom and bathroom. It is quite dangerous, only about shoulder high. We put towels over it too soften the head blow if not thinking! Other than that, a great place to stay.
