The island is a summertime tourist mecca. However in the Winter there are only a few hundred permanent residents on the island. The only reliable transportation this time of year is to fly, that is weather conditions permitting. Beautiful to be there if you don't mind the cold and snow.

« Very clean and tastefully decorated. The furniture was good except the bed. We don't do well with a firm mattress and that was as firm as the cement slab that concrete guys put in my backyard last week. The kitchen was pretty skimpy on the cookware. No tongs for the grill and cooking an egg overeasy was almost impossible in the fry pans provided. If they cut 15 to 20 of those damn cedar trees they would have million dollar view of the cove. « This was the cutest and perfect 500 sq ft lodging for us. We spent 4 lovely evenings here as we traveled throughout the Upper Peninsula. Very clean and had the basics for light cooking. It mentions 3 min walk to Ferry. It was more like 10 min as we did a slow stroll and enjoyed the surroundings. The photos were very accurate. Perfect place for 2 people. Shower stall was very nice but might be considered small depending on your physique. There was no hairdryer, which didn't matter but...
