"This is a wonderful hotel in a beautiful location surrounded by lush gardens. It lacks some of the amenities you expect at this level (gym, fridge in the room, tea making facilities) and the helicopters that come and go to the hotel’s helipad are a real nuisance. However, my real reason for the 4/5 grade is because of all the bird cages. Toucans are meant to be free."

"Un accueil très sommaire, sans grande explication du fonctionnement ni des alentours. Staff bénévole qui mériterait de mettre l'accent sur l'accueil et la relation clients, qui sont très légers voire certains moments inexistants. La situation et la vue sont incroyables, quelques transats seraient les bienvenus. Pas d'eau chaude ni wifi durant notre court séjour."

Elle a TOUT organisé et coordonné les transports pour nous à coût juste. Sans elle nous serions arrivés au Lac sans ressources pour nous rendre sur place. À notre arrivée 20h30 elle nous avais gardé un repas excellent. En plus d’avoir un excellent choix de bières! Et le lendemain la vue à notre réveil! C’est sans aucun doute l’hébergement le plus exceptionnel de notre séjour! La chambre, c’est du glamping, était tellement confortable. Notre seule douche chaude d’un séjour de 10 nuits un peu partout au Guatemala. Tout le monde qui visite le Lac Atitlan devraient se payer au moins une nuit au El Picnic, c’est un expérience en sois en plus d’un hébergement. Puis le déjeuner le lendemain était excellemment avec cette vue! Merci tellement Gaby tu as fais notre séjour en plus que votre place est exceptionnelle! Je recommande vivement l’expérience! "

"Con: Unhelpful staff. The tours organized by the hotel are overpriced. We were asked several times by the restaurant staff to buy them boat rides. The restaurant food is really not good. Didn't even think about doing laundry there: $2 US for panties and $1.50 US for boxer shorts (which is a bit sexist). You have to pay $5 US for a clean towel, even after 3 days at the hotel. Also, the bathroom was very old and not quite as good as the photos. The only positive point is the incredible view of the lake and the hotel gardens, which are very beautiful."
