little house packs a punch on Delaware Bay NJ
New renovated 700 sq foot home located in South Jersey on a bird preserve and on the water, Last house on the end. large lot plenty of parking. Its an out door lovers paradise a lot of wild life. 1 hour from Phily on the NJ side of Delaware Bay.
House was great and had everything you could need. Barn swallows keep the outdoor space bug-free for the most part allowing for an enjoyable outdoor environment. No access to the beach by the house, but great views at all times of day.
I stumbled across this gemwhile researching Cape May and I wanted to give it a try. And boy, I am so glad I did. You are surrounded by natureI was able to read my book listening to wind, water and the occasional bird stopping by to say Hello. The Owner was very polite and extremely accommodating by extending our trip an extra night. We went to Bailey's Seafood Market and had the BEST crab cakes and shrimp. We went crabbingone day and spent a day in Cape May. We are grateful for our time here and looking forward to visiting again. Thank You Alex Cheryl, Mike and Cody
This house is a gem! The location is beautiful and secluded! The stunning views all around is something I couldnât get enough of. We had the best time! Would love to come back :)
This cabin by the water has everything you need for a perfect, quiet, restful and serene getaway. Sunrises, sunsets, wildlife, all right on the water. Alex was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Highly recommended!
Property had a great view and easy access to the bay beach. TV and wi-fi did not work. Oven ran on propane from a tank that you use for your grill and the propane ran out. Left a day early because we wanted to watch football and cook our food. Reached out to owner for a partial refund and never heard back.
The property was in great location. Secluded and quiet. We all loved it.
There are two suggestions I would make. The outdoor furniture needs some updating. Some of the chairs were rickety. Also please let rectors know stores and restaurants are a minimum of half an hour away. Not a problem but would be good to know. We did find a great restaurant in Port NorrisâŠ. The Red Eyed Crab. Great place. Open only Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The property was isolated and perfect for us⊠lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean every night, but a quick drive to all that the Cape May area has to offer. Easy drive to all the beach communities in the vicinity.
The property is extremely private & peaceful. Alex was super communicative & friendly through the weekend/Experience. Highly recommend the location to anyone trying to get away for a weekend. Would absolutely come back next summer.
My friends, dog, and I had a beautiful weekend by the water; charcoal grilling, looking for sea glass on the beach, watching the ospreys and even a bald eagle! Alex is very responsive and when we had an issue (back door lock was stuck) he fixed it within a few hours. House has basically anything you could need and the beds are comfy. The only negative is itâs quite buggy (flies, mosquitos, earwigs) but absolutely worth it for the ocean view from every window in the house and stunning sunsets. Iâll be recommending it to anyone (especially dog owners) in search of a serene getaway!
We had a great stay. The views were great. Highlight was definitely watching sunrise while drinking coffee on the porch. A really private and enjoyable stay.
We had a truly magical stay for a few days to escape the noise and chaos of an urban July 4th. The only noise we had to contend with was the pounding bay surf! Lovely bungalow with everything needed. Would suggest renters be aware of the salt marsh and the local dive bombers - green head fies! Not an issue on the deck at all but they are a challenge on walks! Alex was a kind and generous host. Easy to contact throughout! If you're looking to truly get-away - this is the spot!
This was the perfect stay for my family and our dog. We were looking for a quiet, nature-filled, beach vacation and we were thrilled to find this spot. The wildlife was amazing and we really were right on the beach! Can't recommend enough.
Our vacation started off with a tropical storm but we weathered it out in this adorable little house. Alex has done great work to this home and we barely noticed the winds or rain inside. Luckily we did have two great days of no rain and explored the beach next to the house (great for sea glass hunting) and the adorable East Point Lighthouse near by. Nancy and Carl at the lighthouse are the best! Highly recommend the red eye crab for seafood (it is about 25 mins away but worth it!) Most stores and restaurants are a bit of a drive from the house but itâs worth it for the seclusion. If you want to get away and disconnect for a bit, this is the perfect place! Alex is very quick to respond for any issues and so great to work with!
We had a fun stay exploring Cape May and the Maurice River area. The rustic house has lovely views, pretty sunrises and sunsets up the street-and the area is especially fun to explore at low tide. Lots of eagles and ospreys, horseshoe crabs and sea glass to find to keep everyone entertained. Donât miss touring the East Point lighthouse up the road if you are up in the weekend. Theyâve made it a really sweet functional museum as well as a landmark.
This was the absolutely perfect place to unplug and completely relax. You will not be disappointed! I spent most of my time on the deck soaking in the amazing views and hearing nature all around me. I loved watching a pair of bald eagles right outside. The house was well equipped to make meals. The furniture was very comfortable. Alex checked in with me before and during my stay and immediately answered any questions. I am so glad I stayed here.
Let me first start off by saying Alex is awesome with communication!!!!
We had a few issues, that preventing us from staying, but hopefully they will be resolved for the next group of renters. You canât say enough about the views from every room in the house.
Alex's home was exactly what we needed. It is located on the Delaware Bay and about an hour from Cape May. We spent our time on the deck enjoying the breeze and views. Luckily we came with a cooler full of food for the week because the closest grocery store was about 30 minutes away but WAWA was 15. Our dog enjoyed her walks, too. Word of caution, you must bring bug spray. Ticks, mosquitoes, and flies like to visit thanks to the nature preserve. Luckily we didn't have any issues but I know that Alex would have been responsive if something came up.
The house was great. It's a great place to just sit and relax as a family and enjoy the views. You can see the ocean from every room in the house, and the occasional dolphins swimming out front. And so many different types of birds. The house was well stocked so we could make dinner there a night as well.
