Not worth the money but good location
We hoped for solid wifi and some luxury on this stay… the place is nice, but needs maintenance (eg bathroom door lock missing, mosquito nets didn’t work). The Wi-Fi kept kicking you off and you had to log in repeatedly with a code that’s not memorable. Didn’t think it was worth the money. The location is good.

The rooms were nice and the staff was super helpful and friendly. The hotel is convenient to being in the city center. Would recommend staying her for work or tourist travel.

Relaxed elegance, beautiful gardens
The Sunbird Lilongwe is a beautiful hotel. It has the relaxed elegance of an earlier era, with low-slung building and open corridors with view of the extensive, beautifully-maintained gardens. The rooms have been recently renovated so they are very comfortable, and there is now a gym (I tried the elliptical, which worked very well) as well as a small pool. The breakfasts are ample, with omelettes made to order, and the service is excellent. I stayed twice, once on each end of my trip to Lilongwe, and I enjoyed both visits. This is Old Town, so outside the hotel the roads are rough and sidewalks are dirt paths, but if you venture a block down to the big shopping center, the Bombay Palace also has excellent Indian food.

This hotel is in an excellent location for business and pleasure. I found the staff to be courteous, professional and friendly. The property is a little dated but very clean and i was quite happy and comfortable in in my room

I loved the lush, green and spacious gardens and the fact that my room had a patio. The birds were everywhere. I appreciated that all room entrances were from the garden instead of indoor hallways like most hotels. The staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant had great breakfasts and dinners. It was a great place to stay for 3 weeks.

Reasonable business hotel
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel generally clean. The room was also nice and generally comfortable. Some areas that could be improved are the internet, fitness options and the coffee! Internet logs you out if your phone or laptop is on standby. This means you miss messages and Skype calls. There is a pool but it’s quite small and no gym. Breakfast was reasonable but let down by lack of decent coffee. There are some good restaurants in walking distance so worthwhile if you need to be in the area

Please note that measures have been put in place to rectify the issues and to ensure consistency of the WiFi. As for the gym, we are glad to inform you that the gym will be ready by 5th October 2019. Reliable quality in a well situated hotel.
The staff in the hotel are all friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and appropriately furnished including tea making facilities. The self-service breakfast offers a good range of food catering to a variety of tastes. The hotel is situated within walking distance of Lilongwe Mall where there are banking and shopping facilities.
