Home Truths:
- This home allows pets for a fee. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- Bookings must be made at least 24 hours before check-in. Same-day bookings are not permitted.
- Absolutely no exterior amplified music is allowed. Violations will result in a $500 fine.
- While we do our best to notify guests in advance, unannounced power outages may occur due to unexpected city maintenance.
- No events are allowed unless pre-approved and coordinated through Avantstay. This includes but is not limited to: rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, birthday parties, and social gatherings.
- All guests must comply with local laws regarding outdoor lighting, quiet hours, and limitations on parties or gatherings.

Accidental Damage Protection: A non-refundable accidental damage protection plan has been included in the price of your reservation. Under this plan, you will not be held responsible to pay for accidental damage or loss to the rental property resulting from you or others in your party up to $2000. This plan does not cover intentional acts of a guest, gross negligence, or willful and wanton conduct, and/or damages caused by pets. This plan is not available for reservations 28 days or longer or reservations that require a security deposit.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.

As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.

Perfect local

This was in the perfect spot so near to all the great La Jolla stuff, yet quiet and quaint. It feelslike a real neighborhood as I am sure it is. I woke up earlier than everyone and grabbed a coffee down the street and watched the seals practically all by myself. I had a few questions and they were answered right away. We cooked some local artichokes and felt the use of kitchen was easy and a great treat for us.

Cozy spot in a very walkable area

This is a charming cottage near La Jolla Village. I would stay here again. It was an easy walk to the grocery store, the coastal walk, little shops, and art galleries. The beds were VERY comfortable. The shower was good. There was plenty of on-demand hot water and nice sundries (soap, shampoo, conditioner). The hot tub took a while to warm up, but once it did, it was a welcome feature and a nice size for 2 people. If it hadn't been foggy and cold, I think we would have spent a lot of our evenings on the backyard deck because it's a welcoming environment. We were in town for Thanksgiving with family in a nearby suburb. The kitchen had a great selection of cookware and utensils that enabled us to cook our assigned dish for a large crowd. The only downsides were dull knife blades - it took forever to chop veggies. The ambient and other lighting were great, making it easy for us to read and for our daughter to study. Note: This is a cottage - there's no central heating but there are heating/cooling units in the LR and both BRs. Once we figured those out via text help from AvantStay's crew, the temperature was comfortable. If you're staying there in the winter, I recommend having a sweater or sweatshirt on hand to be most comfortable while the units warm up. Also, street parking in front of the house was easy in the early AM and PM. I suspect people who work nearby during the day take up the spaces between 9-5, so sometimes you might have to park a block or two away.
