The Property is looking very tired run down. Whilst it is aging, it could still be kept clean and tidy. Windows dirty, balcony filthy. There appears to be no maintenance being done on the property

This property was probably gorgeous in its heyday but is very rundown. The worst part was that no one was there when we arrived and the lobby was locked up. This was 830pm and we had not received any communication about a “no later than”… check in time. We had to call three numbers to finally reach someone who could come let us in. At no point was there ever an apology or acknowledgment as to the inconvenience. Furthermore we had splurged on the “penthouse” which is not a penthouse at all really. Not much larger than a regular room. We played 9 holes of golf but were charged for 18. Having said this, the staff we did meet were incredible, especially the lovely fellow at the halfway hut who stuck out there even in a monsoon. The golf course is beautiful and filled with kangaroos. Also sadly very run down. Pies at the turn were 👌.

Thank you Sarah for your feedback. It is unfortunate that there was a breakdown in communication about your arrival and check-in processes. We do try to cover as much information as possible in our Booking Confirmation Letter to help our guests have the most information available to them prior to their stay, which does also include the opening hours of reception for checking in. Whilst it is disappointing to hear that you were unhappy with various aspects of your stay, we do appreciate you taking the time to inform us of ways that we can improve. We strive to try and make every guests experience a memorable one, and it seems that this was not the case for you. We do hope that you return for another stay in the future so that we can restore your expectations.

The room itself had no seating so had to sit on the bed , the bathroom flooded every time we showered, one of the tv’s didn’t work. There was no internet in the rooms although this was advertised as available. Went to play on the driving range but couldn’t as the machine was broken. There was a plastic shower cap covering the smoke alarm which is a bit scary. All staff were very friendly. It was like staying in a cheap motel.

Good hotel with a lot of potential.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Room air con tempremental - one minute very cold and then warm, without even touching the dial. Showing its age but that did not impact on our stay. Service was great. Lillies restaurant not open for dinner but local pavilion open and a short walk or free shuttle away. Pool area good with a nice spa pool. Golf was great.

Some sprucing needed.
The maid service came and gave new towels and removed Garbage but did not clean coffee cups, replace teabags etc, or make the beds. The photo below shows a bug found in the bed clothes. Reception was not manned on arrival and payment was taken before arrival when I indicated I would pay at arrival according to options on the booking form. The resort was looking tired, some repairs looked dodgy the garden seemed a bit overgrown and the lagoon didn't look full or running very well.
A bug in the bed clothes. Yuck.

Golf course is fantastic , a credit to the understaffed greenkeepers considering i stayed a few days after the xmas storms of 2023. Alan and Georgia in the pro shop nice and friendly and professional. Actual resort is older 90's style which i didnt mind and for the price (penthouse for under $500 for 3 nights) i thought was fair value. Not much to do there if your not a golfer but would recommend one or two nights for non golfers. Kangaroos everywhere etc and a couple of snall pools, Pavillion Tavern 2-300 metre walk, once again older but food okay.

My room had cockroaches. It needs a good cleaning. The bathrooms had toilet paper half full so they had already been used. I have been to the hotel on several occasions but this time I saw it deteriorated and lacked cleanliness.

The hotel room need to be refurbished, pool need to be clean…. Staff is friendly but it wasn’t a nice experience due to power shortage in whole area.

Thank you for your feedback. You were unfortunate that your stay was impacted by a major weather event. The power was out for over 24 hours a we were very limited on what we could do in that time.

The property is very run down. It would be an absolutely amazing place if it was kept in good condition. It's actually quite sad because I think it must have been amazing when it was first established. It's just been neglected. The staff are wonderful though.

Thank you for your comments. The Resort itself is about 40 years old and was abandoned for nearly 6 years. We try our best to keep up with maintenance issues.

A good hotel to relax. The pool was amazing and the customer service was excellent. We only had a problem with the hot water in the room. No cold water came out. The water came out very hot. difficult to take a shower.

It was for us very quiet and peaceful. Would like to know if you got selfcontained areas, units to book for weekends or a week? Otherwise everything was more than i expected would recommend it to anyone who will ask me to go there.

Paid $300 for a room that was run down and the whole facility itself needs work so run down the decking out the front of Lillies all broken and unsafe I have young kids and was worries for them running along this..

The restaurant was Very under staffed,,, was confusion and frustration with customers not getting meals.. and Leaving..... Because there is NO table numbers......and the wait was to long.... Food was Very Nice. eventually...

Thank you for your review. Our apologies for the inconvenience with obtaining your meals but we are glad that you enjoyed your food. Due to our remote location we have a high staff turnover and difficulty obtaining staff, but we are trying to entice staff to come to the Resort.

However the new Managers are getting on top of the issues and the resort will improve over time. The room we had was in dire need of renovation. Big holes in the wall behind the television: tiles/ stoneware missing from the bath/shower exposing sharp metal edges: cockroach in the tea cup we had left from the night before. Reminded me of some Asian regional hotels we've stayed at but with inflated Aussie prices. Balcony door lock missing, flyscreen door with holes in: a large metal strip laying on the floor near the balcony door.

This resort is very old and run down. There was no hot water for the duration of our 2 day stay. The water was cool to semi lukewarm so we had very quick showers. I called reception on the second night and although she was very apologetic and explained that the maintenance man was continually "jumping the fence" to check the gas tanks there was nothing she could do as the resort was full and everyone was having a shower in the evening and I should maybe wait and try and have a shower much later on in the evening when everyone has gone to bed, she also suggested I boil the kettle and have a basin bath. I feel this holiday was a waste of my hard earned money as I did'nt pay over $500 for a weekend of no hot water and then be told to have basin bath. Now, I must mention that the reception lady did say that they couldnt get a plumber out over the long weekend, which ok, I understand and I did'nt want to go on, but we found this comment questionable as when you take a look around and notice how run down and unkept the facility is then you can't help but wonder if the plumbing problem is a regular occurance as there appears to be no regular maintenance being carried out on the property. So our experience was not a positive one which is pity as the place has potential.

No, no and no! Save your money and go elsewhere until this property is actually habitual. Unfortunately didn’t get to experience this resort in its heyday. I’m sure it was amazing. Have stayed a few times over the last couple of years and have learnt not to have high expectations at all but did previously enjoy the natural beauty of Kooralbyn and the golf course etc. This place has so much potential as a retreat from the stress of Brisbane and the Gold Coast. It’s such a shame to see it die such a slow undignified death. It needs to close until it is fit for purpose. Staff do their best but seriously, close down. Never again until the accommodation is not a hazard!

The whole experience was disappointing from start to finish. The pictures on the website do not reflect the current state of the “resort”. It is completely run down and at times you didn’t feel safe. Furniture and railings on balconies were falling apart. Lights flickering in rooms. Algae growing on pool floor. Mould growing everywhere. Large palm fronds falling throughout the gardens just missing clientele. The whole place feels sad and tired. It is a hazard and needs some serious maintenance before it is open to the public.
