Magnifique maison pour se reposer
Un peu loin de Hilo, mais maison magnifique avec des pièces immenses, super bien équipé et un patio très agréable pour passer ses soirées,!

Hawai’i paradise
We had a tournament in Hilo so we decided to stay at another location close to Hilo since we’ve recently stayed in Hilo. The location was great! 2-3 minute mile ride to wonderful beach views. The house was big and spacious! Every room had its own private full bath and balcony! The amenities were great, from the game room to the snorkel gear to the bikes provided! There was a Sunday market no more than 8 minutes away that was great! All in all if I come back to the big island I’m staying here again.

Large house 3 master suites
Large house with lovely outdoor spaces . Sharing with extended family and we really appreciated the separate spaces- downstairs suite is very private. The boys enjoyed the pool table and basketball. Huge yard with nice plants.

Amazing property. Unfortunately didn’t get a chance to meet Howard, but he was around if we had needed him. A lot of love and hard work put into the house. A lot of fun adventuring around the yard looking for fruit. Zero complaints.

Merrie Monarch get away
The property is stunning and well kept. Gorgeous artwork and the energy of the place is so calming. It was a perfect spot for our family after watching our son dance at Merrie Monarch. Fun to go on a bike ride and play darts while on property. We will be back when we have time to enjoy the Big Island. Mahalo Uncle Howard for sharing your gorgeous home.

Keaa’u Paradise
This house was perfect for our family of 4. My kids enjoyed playing in the yard and looking for ripe fruit. We used all the fun amenities during our stay with family dart games, bike rides and pool games. The kitchen was very well stocked which made it great for cooking and eating dinner out on the deck. The house was very well kept and super clean and tidy. The drive to Hilo and volcano park was easy. Nice short bike ride to a beautiful ocean view and great whale watching spot. Icing on the cake was the little treats left for us by Howard. During our visit to Hawaii we stayed on both the Kona and Hilo side and this home blew us away and definitely made us feel like we were in paradise and would love to stay, which we did not get that same feeling from the place on the Kona side. 10/10 would recommend. Mahalo Howard!

Great stay!
We loved our stay at Howard's home. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host checked in and tried to help when there were internet issues on the island. There is a lot of living space and multiple couples or a larger family could comfortably stay at the house. The kitchen had most essentials for cooking. The hawaiian coffee and chocolates were a nice touch.

Great house that makes you wanna actually live there
Our family of 6 stayed there for a week. Our main focus on the trip was exploring the nature so the location was perfect. Equal distance to both the national park and Mauna Kea, and being not so far from the airport was very ideal. Howard’s place was so comfortable that we decided to just enjoy the place playing pool and relaxing in the yard. Howard was so easy to communicate with too. Thank you Howard for such a nice place and some background story of the house!

Beautiful home
We were there for 7 days and enjoyed every minute of it. Howard is a wonderful host. We never ask for anything but I believe that if we had he would have tried to get it for us. If we ever go back to Hawaii we will try to stay there again. Thank you Howard.

Christmas break family time
We LOVED the yard, with so many fruit trees that we were unfamiliar with. We also really enjoyed that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The host provided snorkel gear, games and bikes!

Great spot for a family
Stayed 5 nights over Thanksgiving. The house is super roomy, the property is beautifully landscaped and the kids loved the pool table and darts. The beach is super close and the sunrises were amazing. This place truly is a tropical paradise!

Highly recommend! This property was beautiful! Everything was as nice or nicer than described. Truly cannot say enough. Excellent location for everything we wanted and needed. The host, Uncle Howard, couldn’t have have made our stay any easier or better if he’d tried. We will definitely stay here again.

The Perfect Place to Relax
The rental really offered everything we needed to relax. Complete with all the amenities and plenty of space for privacy. A very unique area with a lot to offer. Being able to eat fresh fruit each morning right from the property, was a nice bonus. Do yourself a favor, choose the rental to relax. By the way, Howard has all of the toys you need for fun as well.

Beautiful Island experience
The property is amazing with views and available fresh fruit from the trees on the property. A short bike ride down the street lies gorgeous trails that lead you out to the cliffs with amazing views of the ocean, sea turtles, locals fishing and a breathtaking sunrise if you are up early enough to catch it. The host was friendly, available for needs and offered great advice for first time travelers. Will definitely recommend and even return!!!

Wunderbares Haus an schöner Lage
Das Haus ist sehr grosszügig, sehr sauber und hat alles, damit man sich wohlfühlen kann. Die Lage ist optimal, um viele Hotspots von Big Island erkunden zu können. Die verschiedenen Unterhaltungsmöglichkeiten, wie Billiard, Fahrräder oder Basketball konnten wir auch immer wieder nutzen. Ein rundum toller Aufenthalt im Haus von Howard. Vielen Dank!

We've had an excellent time on the island. It was a great location for all the trips we've taken. Howard is a great host with a big Hart. As a bonus the place has a shade for a car and beautiful garden. We've spent all our meal times on the spacious balcony.

Amazing Big Home.
First off -Howard was super pleasant and helpful. The property has 3 big bedrooms with their own bathroom each. Fruit in property is delicious. Pool table and basketball hoop kept our teenagers contented during downtime.

Nice home for a big family.
We stayed at this location for a week. We are a family of 5. The home is located in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by beautiful Hawaiian landscapes. The only problem we had was that the communication with the host was not the best. The door with the automatic lock would not close correctly and we ended up getting the key to another front door. That was the 2nd day there. After that there was 0 communication with the host. We tried getting in touch with him to return his key but no answer to this day. We ended up leaving it there for him and just sending a message. Other than that the home is spacious and the showers are nice. NO A/C, but that was listed on the property details.

Wow! First 3 star review in over 5 years of mostly 5 star reviews! We try to do our best to please everyone, and we will keep on trying to do all we can to make your stay the most comfortable & memorable one. We live in a small studio on the same property so we are readily available at anytime for anything you may need. If you are not able to reach us by text or phone, just knock on our door, we are happy to see you!

What a great landscape. We enjoyed Huli Huli chicken skewered with sugar cane from the property that was grilled over a charcoal pit surrounded by lava rock. We ate the land's fresh fruit (pineapple, vivie "strawberry guava", and lilikoi "passion fruit"), soaked up the sun, and caught beautiful sunrises down the street over lava cliffs. Howard told us about several beach park accesses a short ways down the road where we enjoyed snorkeling with turtles and tropical fish. The place is spacious and loaded with beautiful furniture and artwork. Great for multiple family/friend groups. There are balcony's throughout the entire place with tables and chairs. The kids enjoyed riding bikes that were provided and hanging out in the mancave downstairs playing pool and darts while catching a little TV at the same time. Howard was a great hostess. He promptly responded when we needed assistance, and was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful rental
We really enjoyed our stay at this rental and agreed that it was certainly one of the best that we've stayed at so far. Howard is a great host and was very helpful whenever we had a couple of small issues arise. He's also just a joy to chat with as he has some very good recommendations of places to see as well as really good places to eat. The house itself is very spacious, and it has some fun things to discover. For instance, there are some neat paintings in the upper staircase that were painted by an unexpected artist, and no, it's not Howard (although I actually don't know if he paints or not). All in all, both the house and Howard, especially, helped make our first stay in Hawaii extremely enjoyable. We would certainly recommend this house!

Great house and facilities
Big house with lots of nice seating areas and space. Amazing variety of fruit to see growing in the garden. Plenty to keep you entertained. Fans were ample for our visit in May. Can get down to the coast from the house and there are restaurants and shops a short drive away. Howard was on hand (as lives next door) in case we needed anything. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

This house was the perfect stay in the Big Island. The picture don’t do it justice and everything is BEAUTIFUL! As soon as you drive up, you see the front yard and will already be amazed. Howard was a great host! He was kind, generous, and just an overall great guy. I am still talking about this place days later, and already want to come back!

Great house in a beautiful location
Howard’s property is spacious with comfortable beds, updated and clean bathrooms, and a kitchen with everything you need to prepare full meals. The outdoor space is relaxing and beautiful!! Howard is a gracious host and will go out of his way to make your stay enjoyable. We had a rental car breakdown and the rental car agency was unable to help us. Howard met us where we broke down, drove us to his property, and took us to pick up a different rental car the next morning. Both Howard and his home are gems on the island!!

Howard’s place was clean and spacious. Walkable to the ocean and we really enjoyed some of the extra perks - like the bikes, pool table and tasty fruit we were allowed to pick for ourselves in the yard! Great home base for exploring the East side of the island.

What a treat!
The property was immaculately kept and so beautifully decorated. Comfort convenience everything you could want in a relaxing getaway. We very much enjoyed the jacuzzi tub after long days of hiking or swimming. The kitchen was to die for and I want one in my own house. Even though no fruit was in season during our stay just enjoying watching and looking at the trees and the growing plants was wonderful.

Beautiful home
This was a family trip with 2 adults, 2 teens (14, 17) and one 83 year old whose lifelong dream was to go to Hawaii. The house was a perfect place to start our mornings and relax at night. The beach down the street, although not a great spot for swimming, was a beautiful spot to walk to, or ride to. The house was clean and had everything we needed, including beach stuff! Communication with the owner Howard was great. Always quick with responses to any questions. Hands down would stay at this home again!

Beautiful Property with tons of room
We loved this home overall. It is huge, the rooms all have bathrooms and balconies. The outside really does come in. It doesn’t have AC, which wasn’t an issue for everyone but myself. Due to my allergies, I had no way to shut out nature. We were never hot, but the house was dripping wet with moisture. The blinds in the bedrooms stuck together from the wet. It did rain the entire time we were there, and I am sure that was our major issue. Had it been drier, maybe my allergies wouldn’t have been so bad and our clothing and towels would have time to dry out. I wish the house had some way to dehumidify. I’m not dinging the rating, because otherwise the home was spot on. If you are ok camping, then this is a luxurious step way, way up. If you need to get away from nature while you sleep, you might need to book something else. No issue with the property otherwise. We loved the decor, the fruit trees, the sounds of nature, the location near the coast. It was amazing if not for my own personal issues.

Fabulous getaway!
This was an excellent base for a week stay with extended family. We could all have our own space as well as common areas. The beach at the end of the hike near the house was of favorite of the whole stay! We liked being able to come back to a quiet place after our days of adventure. If I could change one thing about our vacation it would be to spend more time simply hanging out at the house.

Lovely Home - Convenient Location
The property is very well maintained and lovely. You enter into the garage where there is a pool table, dart board, bar, and a main bedroom to the left with a jacuzzi tub. To the right of the pool table is a half bath. Also in the garage are several bikes, surf & boogie boards, snorkel equipment, and water shoes. Up one flight of stairs is the main living area with a beautiful kitchen and dining table. The lanai is huge! Up another flight of stairs are two more main suites with either a queen or king bed and full bathroom. It has everything!

Great place, great value
Beautiful home near the ocean, airport and Hilo. Perfect starting point for activities all around the island. Howard is a terrific and helpful host. House was clean, comfortable and beautifully appointed. Very reasonably priced. We'd stay there again for sure.

Love it!
Perfect location- away from too many people on a quiet street, short walk to ocean, short drive to Volcanoes National Park. No A/C so we got a little sticky with all the humidity. Kitchen well stocked with pots, pans and dishes. Lots of great places to eat. 20 minute drive to restaurants, groceries, and target. Only negative was furniture while fits theme of house was uncomfortable, one bed needed a replacement, some lamps, night stands maybe dressers. We will be back!

This was the best experience we have had in a long time. Uncle Howard is an amazing host! the community is amazing. The cliffs at sunrise is a must to experience! The description is accurate and actually doesn't do it justice.. it is better than described! All the extras are thought of. We will be back. Mahalo!
