Ishikawa : Chalets

« This is a lovely and comfortable place. The space is organized in a slightly awkward way, but it's completely workable. The host is great at communications, and accommodated us with an early check-in. The small streets of this neighborhood are quiet and well cared for, and the machiya is very close to Kenroku-en Garden. Other areas are a short walk away. We very much appreciated being able to stay here. »

« The house was very spacious. Interaction with the host before our arrival was minimal. The neighborhood was fairly isolated and there was not even a convenience store nearby. It was within walking distance of a number of sights.Layout of the house was not ideal, especially for older visitors with some mobility issues. Sleeping area was up a fairly steep narrow stairway, without a bathroom on the same floor. We ended up moving the futon downstairs into the living room and slept on the floor...

« This little townhouse is in a very quiet neighbourhood, close to the river. There is a 7 11 within 15 minutes walk and dining options nearby. While we enjoyed our stay, i would caution that it is probably not suitable for older people, or small children. The sleeping quarters are up a 60 degree staircase (fortunately with a handrail) which was hard work, even for a middle-aged gym go-er. « Great area with an excellent restaurant across the street. On the route for the hop on hop off bus. Very clean and lots of room. Kitchen is very well equipped and beds were very comfortable even though they were the traditional Japanese style. Bathrooms upstairs and down. Great property for a larger group or family. »
