« No evening meal due to chef needing time off, staff seemed to have no idea what was happening. Only food available in the area was pizza at a hostel across the road. Breakfast room opened at 8:30 and consisted of help yourself Coco pops, croissants or toast, if you had an early start, nothing. Overall a very poor experience. »

« This is a wonderful place to stay--convenient to the train station and the center of town, but in a quiet area. We stayed twice, before and after hiking in the Lakes District, and stayed in two different rooms. The beds are very comfortable, and both rooms had space for us to spread out. Tip: when it's really hot, the lower floors are cooler! Breakfast is great; we only got the continental, but it comes with porridge or overnight oats, and the menu for full breakfast looked fantastic and Sue...

« Onernight stay on way to Scotland. Lovely quiet location within a few miles of M6. Friendly staff, clean pleasant room. Had evening meal in the restaurant which was very good. Enjoyed it so much we repeated the experience on the way back! Second night room was a bit smaller but fine for overnight. »
