« I received a warm welcome and the room was clean and spacious. There was fresh milk and fresh fruit available in the mini-fridge, which was thoughtful; also, delicious home made chocolate cake! This suited me perfectly for a one-night stopover on my travels. »

« Wonderful stay, which exceeded our expectations. Our hosts Emyr and Tracey were very welcoming. We found the guest house to be well equipped, very comfortable, and extremely clean with fresh decoration. We loved the feature wall in our room depicting a scene of Sherwood Forest. A real bonus to be in such a quiet and peaceful location. Breakfast was very good, great choice and quality, with hot food being freshly cooked. Fully recommend, we will be returning. »

« One night stay was good for what we needed just very dusty , cobwebs everywhere , dust in the air vent in the bathroom , cracks and screws hanging out. Would stay again as the room is adequate just needs abit of a clean. »

« A lovely stay. A beautiful building and immaculate cosy room. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was huge. A great view of the canal. Right in the centre of Newark and easy to access. Parking is allocated per room and validated via an app...building work was happening so my space wasn't signed, but the builders were really helpful. The outside was in need of a bit of a tidy up, but it is Autumn. »

« Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean. It’s a small room but only because it’s a historic beautiful building. It had everything we needed. We ate in the restaurant. The food was superb. Good price too. Highly recommended. 👍 »

« What a joke! The hotel cancelled on me right before we were due to stay because of an apparent leak. I think managed to book a different hotel at twice the price as it was so last minute. Hucknall house has now blocked my phone number and I still am waiting for a refund. »
