« The property was very dated, with a need of a deep clean and decor update. Carpets were stained and our particular room had a unpleasent smell. Overall the property has seen better days, I guess this is reflected in a lower than average room price for the area. Staff however were very friendly and although we did not eat a main meal, the portions looked generous and other guests appeared content. Suggest read the available reviews and make you own decision. »

« The Guinness Arms had character rooms and the hallway was just as nice. Our room had aircon and also a skylight which had retractable blinds if you wanted to look at the sky or not. Room was clean and cosy with coffee and tea facilities. A bottle of water was also supplied with a selection of biscuits. Iron and board in cupboard for those who want to sort the creases out. « The inn is next to the river ouse in a beautiful area and, by car, is 5 minutes from St. Ives, a very interesting town to visit. To visit Cambridge you can go via various little villages through the countryside avoiding the very crowded A14 - about 40 mins. The room we had was quite small though comfortable with all the usual services. I would recommend asking for a large room on the side away from the kitchen to avoid the noise of the kitchen fan.
