This is beautiful Bolton Abbey in Wharfedale at the foot of the Yorkshire Dales. The now ruined abbey was founded in 1154 but dissolved by Henry VIII in 1539. Dare to cross the sixty stepping stones to cross the river but beware of the Strid with its dangerous eddies of water.

« Great range of rooms for 11 adults. Clean bedding. Great communication from the host.Spacious house with plenty of spare rooms to have some quiet time, if required.Not all rooms have bathrooms but there are plenty of toilets and showers around the house to accommodate everyone. Would highly recommend for family or friends groups. »

« Weel what can i say. This oroperty was absolutely perfect for our wedding party. Can you imagine 6 women getting ready at the same time. « House not cleaned properly, plug socket in middle bedroom hanging off wall, tv aerial cables hanging out wall in kitchen at fridge,leaking radiator in kitchen - reported to owner/management company on day 1 of holiday - no response. Had to put newspapers down to dry floor up, wall crumbling in corner of kitchen, paint flaking off numerous walls & in poor state of decoration. Have stayed in many holiday cottages which were all of much better standard - I would not recommend this cottage. »

« A lovely property that has been recently renovated to provide a modern, but cosy base for exploring Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales. The fire and excellent heating system ensured the property was warm and welcoming even with very cold days. Only single drawback is the busy road on the doorstep, but we were aware of this before arriving and the noise was not as bad as some had commented. »

« Schöner hätten wir es nicht antreffen können: ausreichend Platz in allen Räumlichkeiten, Küche mit wirklich allem, was man braucht, Waschmaschine und Trockner im Nebengebäude, großzügiges Bad, bequeme Betten. Und alles super sauber!Außerdem in ruhiger Nachbarschaft gelegen, Parkmöglichkeit direkt in der Straße und zu Fuß ca. 10 Minuten in die Stadt mit Pubs, Restaurants, Shops und dem Schloss. Zwei große Supermärkte auch fußläufig erreichbar.100%ige Empfehlung! »

« A truly spectacular property in very good condition, with everything you could need. Scrupulously clean. Well equipped kitchen which was a joy to cook in. Lots of comfy places to curl up with a book or join in family games. The pool is gorgeous. The only setback for us was that the house is very isolated and there was nothing (apart from spectacular walks and views) for miles around, so every trip or meal out for our group of 11 meant 3 people did a lot of driving, on top of long journeys to...
