« The house was lovely, spacious, clean and well stocked with anything you might need. It is in a tranquil village and has plentiful off-road parking. The garden has an excellent view and is so peaceful to sit in. There is a park 2 minutes down the lane, a football field, and if you continue down the lane, there is a pond and a lovely walk around it. It was perfectly located between all the walking areas I wanted to see and complete. When we arrived there was bread, milk and some treats waiting...

« Lovely apartment but needed a thorough clean. Walking bearfooted floors felt gritty and a little sticky. Wooden cabinets in kitchen and living area full of greasy fingerprints. Duvet had about a two inch bloody looking stain on it, brought it to their attention, it was returned later in the day in same condition. Sorry to complain but it really spoilt what was otherwise a lovely stay. Nice staff. »

We managed to find the actual property by identifying it from photos, we then had to phone around to get the key code as we sat outside the property. This needs to be improved »

« Lock Cottage is simply but comfortably furnished and very roomy. It is situated on a quiet and attractive street. The only downside was the shower being in the bath which wasn’t obvious from the photos and it’s something we try to avoid as we find them difficult to get in and out of. Nearby is Levisham which has a very attractive pub, The Horseshoe, as well as Levisham station where you can watch the steam trains on their way through between Pickering and Whitby. »
