« A really lovely small property with easy access to hiking locations and downtown Salem. We used it to attend my child's graduation at Virginia Tech, which was about a 40 minute drive. The place is spotless and has decent amenities. There is no dishwasher, so bring paper plates if you don't like doing dishes, but everything you need is there. Note there is only one bathroom, so plan accordingly. A very pleasant place to stay! »

« One of my favorite Vrbo rentals so far! The property was very clean and incredibly cozy. The view from the property is also stunning, you overlook a field of apple trees and at night you have a great view of the sky. Would definitely recommend folks stay here! »

« We really enjoyed the three nights we spent at this property. We initially ran into some issues with VRBO, but the host, John, was very kind and accommodating. Updated interior photos of the cottage would serve to benefit the listing. I'd say the current photos do not show the full scope of the space or amenities. « The house is in a great quiet location on a little cove of Smith Mountain Lake. It is away from things enough to have privacy but still not a long drive to stores, restaurants, etc. We were in town for a family wedding at a local venue. The house was good for myself, husband, daughter and son-in-law. I chose a pet friendly house so I could bring my oldest dog with me. However the stairs inside the house were too steep and slippery for him to use safely and I would also not recommend for anyone...

« Great place. We really enjoyed the isolation in the woods with views of the Blue Ridge mountains. We had a great time with family there and would definitely come back again. Only complaint was the spiral staircase. Since there is no bathroom in the loft I had to navigate the stairs a few times a night to use the bathroom. Not easy for a senior. »

« We rented the property for a wedding weekend for 6 people. Essentially used it as a place to shower sleep and wind down. The property has everything you need. Super spacious. Very clean and comfortable. Wonderful backyard to be outside. We did have an issue with the lock. Property owner was very communicative and immediately came to change out the battery. Very apologetic. But it was the responsiveness that was out of this world to correct the situation. I highly recommend renting this...
