« Enjoyed our time. Colonial Beach is fun for all ages. Property does require the ability of climbing steps, original hardwood floors are very slick with bathroom floor being the slickest even without showering and in areas uneven, very uneven, bathroom has a vintage claw foot tub that requires the ability to step in and out of. There is no gate or door at top of entry steps, no baby gate within property. Just a couple of things to think about if you have any type of fall risks, mobility issues...

« We liked this rental and it was clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed the private community beach located a 5-minute drive away from the property. I did want to mention a couple things I found surprising based on the listing. One is that the listing says it has ‘dock access.’ This is not accurate. The house sits on a small lake. « Our stay at Fern and Forest was fantastic! We stayed in the three-bedroom unit, which definitely offered a boutique charm. Everything you could possibly need is provided during your stay. Fern and Forest is conveniently right off of Route 17 but sits in a very quiet, relaxing spot. The host could not be more available or attentive to anything you need. This will definitely be the spot where we stay when we return to the area! »

« The property was everything we wanted. It was very clean and comfortable and the A/C worked very well. The dock area was big and new. We caught our own crabs right from the dock and had a fresh crab boil for supper. Make sure you bring lights if you plan on using the dock at night. The stairs leading to dock are lit up but the dock is not. The covered deck was nice for early morning coffee and enjoying the outdoors in the midst of an afternoon shower.
