The Athens Lunatic Asylum, was a mental hospital operated in Athens, OH. from 1874 until 1993.

The area is now known as The Ridges and is owned by Ohio University.

« The home was beautiful and well maintained it was in close proximity to several of Hocking Hills caves and hiking trails. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, Dan and Casey were extremely responsive with any questions we had. There are two bat boxes on a detached that hold about 20 bats.. if you go out at around 9pm -915pm you can watch them fly out, my family absolutely loved that! We had absolutely no issues during our stay and would highly recommend their home. »
