Excellent stay with warm hospitalityâjust one disappointing interaction
My family and I stayed at Fort George from July 2â5, 2025, and overall, we had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful, the location is ideal, and the staff throughoutâfrom the front desk to the restaurant and housekeepingâwere consistently friendly, professional, and attentive. Their hospitality truly made our stay comfortable and memorable.
We especially enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and had several great meals at the hotel restaurant.
Unfortunately, our experience ended on a less positive note. On the morning of our departure, while waiting in the lobby for our 8:30 AM airport taxi, my wife was approached by a man (who we later learned was the hotel manager) who asked if we were waiting for a tour guide. She explained we were waiting for our driver. After hearing the pickup time, he checked his watch and said, âSo about 7 minutes,â before walking outside.
A few minutes later, my wife was standing by the door when he returned at exactly 8:32 AM and remarked, âItâs 8:32, heâs late,â in a condescending tone. She explained that the driver had contacted her and was running a few minutes behind. The tone of the exchange felt unnecessarily critical and made us feel rushed out at the very end of an otherwise pleasant stay.
That brief interaction unfortunately left a sour final impression, which is why weâre giving 4 stars instead of 5. That said, weâre very thankful for the excellent service.
