We stayed one night at Parkside. It was very quiet and relaxing, the bed and pillows were great. I slept better than I do at home. The last time we stayed at a hotel in Barrie, we had trouble sleeping due to noise. The location is convenient, walked to a grocery store (15 min), there were also lots of restaurant choices nearby. Overall we had a wonderful experience, will definitely be back in the future.

It's hard to know why some guests can leave mediocre review scores when they don't inform us of what issues there may have been. In our message to our guests, we specifically ask if there's anything we can do or that needs addressing during their stay, before they leave a less-than-favourable review. This guest left our housekeeper a 25 cent tip. This says a lot about the guest, not us. The previous Expedia guest on the day before gave us a 10 out of 10.We stand by our 9.2/10 rating based on over 200 reviews since 2018. Scores like this say more about the reviewer than the reviewee.

Friendly and helpful owner with great communication prior to arrival as well as on arrival. Large apartment with a comfortable lounge and dining area. Convenient for downtown and all shopping and dining facilities. Walking to and from station is possible.

Beautiful paradise in the town
One of the best stays ever. Steve and Mark are lovely, they made us feel very welcome. The apartment is beautiful and the garden is stunning, loved every minute of our stay and would have loved to stay longer to enjoy it more.

It's unfortunate you felt this way about our place, despite us allowing you and your other friends a free early check-in. It's also unfortunate that you did not bring any issues to our attention that would precipitate such a low score. (We aim for 8 or more) It would be nice to determine what was simply "OK" about it, especially given you had our largest suite, and with the view of the garden. Our average rating for the past 5 years has hovered around 9/10, and similarly on other platforms.

We loved how spacious it was and we enjoyed the quiet. The backyard was lovely. The owner lived on site. However, sometimes he was delayed in getting back us. It could have been cleaner. The carpet and couch needed to be vacuumed better(under the cushions). The bedside tables and dresser had quite a bit of dust. The smart TV had the YouTube app, but we then couldn’t get it back to cable because the exit command on YouTube didn’t work. Plus, with every commercial the volume jumped up to full blast and even after we lowered it, went back to full volume when the program resumed.

Lovely little unit with a fab soaker tub. Super clean and for a compact kitchenette there is a surprising amount of things. The owners have a good handle on hospitality done well. I enjoyed my stay and highly recommend them
