The staff were very nice despite one staff member telling us we could not sit outside the restaurant balcony because we were not eating food. The rooms were very old with carpet stains and there was an old musty smell in the rooms. It was clean but disappointing with how old it was considering the price we paid there for 2 nights.

For the price per night I paid, I was expecting much more. The resort needs updates. The shower handle was broken. When we checked out the pool from the second floor, didn’t really feel like going into it. It definitely needs some chlorine, the bottom looks green. We went to the restaurant for lunch at 3pm and there was “a buffet “ which was really leftovers from the breakfast. Not worth it the $25 dollars we paid per person. On our way out, the hallway smells marijuana. Someone on a room near us (our room number was 0650) was clearly smoking that. I alert the receptionist and a guy from maintenance we met at the elevator when we were leaving. One night was just ok, not worth it to go back. Ee

The property was nice gentleman at the front of lobby was great. I didn’t feel very welcome from the front desk celebrating our wedding anniversary, and I bet put notes in the comments and acknowledged it.

The room conditions are really bad. The bed head rest is worn out. The bathroom door painting is falling off. The bedroom curtains are stained. I have pictures of the room that doesn’t match with the expectations for a highly rated resort.

Overall we had a great stay, but it was more about price and location than anything. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, so that was great! Rooms are outdated and there were obvious areas that were damaged from water. Carpet was very questionable/gross. Paid for a balcony but there’s rooms above you without a balcony that just open up to your balcony which is odd. Also no light on balcony so can’t use at night. Pool area is awesome but was disappointed as it was supposed to be temp controlled to 85 but definitely was not. Would recommend for someone not planning to spend a significant amount of time at the hotel but needing a place just outside of Austin to explore hill country.

We had a lake view balcony room. It was big with a long counter on the wall to store items. People were friendly, everything was clean. Seperate pools for adults and children. We definitely will go there again.

The view and pool areas make this destination.the lobby is nice but the rooms are not up to resort level quality, (cracks in bathroom wall, paint is tired) the dining room does not have the service one would expect for the prices.

All in all, Lakeway Resort is a beautiful place, despite the low level of Lake Travis. The property is laid out well & it has a good resort feel: laid back, plush, & something I think of when I hear of “yacht rock.” The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is, in all my attempts to call, in booking my stay, as well as questions while in our room, no one ever answered the phone. I called 3 times prior to booking to ask questions & no one answered. Staying at the resort, I called the property front desk / operator from our room twice to ask questions about amenities, & no one answered.
