Beau séjour
Bel hôtel, chambre très sympa et personnel attentionné. La nourriture est délicieuse, même si on peut déplorer une carte des vins très pauvre et peu qualitative. Belle piscine avec une vue magnifique, en revanche pas d'accès à la plage et comme l'hôtel est un peu isolé, il faut prendre un taxi.

We enjoyed our stay at the Le Mersenne and loved the detail and design of the room. Well appointed. The service was great, location is close to Paje Beach and the Treehouse Restaurant but also far from Stone Town and other popular beaches so plan to either book a driver or rent a car. We booked a scooter thru the hotel and traveled to Paje. DJ played great music at the hotel. We loved the vibe! With that said, a few things to be noted … Limited food options and we grew bored of the pricey options by day 2. The hotel is gorgeous but not as well kept as I prefer. Caulking issues, small wear and tear throughout. For the price and all the extras — tub facing the ocean, soak pool on deck, spacious amenities and great service … I was very pleased with my stay. The stickler in me loosened a bit and enjoyed myself truly.

Average at its best
Zanzibar is a beautiful island with friendly people. The hotel is nice and the views are beautiful. However there is no beach at the hotel. The straff is kind but very untrained and many do not understand English which makes restaurant and room service challenging. The food is at a good price but at its best average. The hotel management is rude and did not Ask a single question about our stay. Head of food and beverage was very kind however. The ordered and confirmed transport from the airport to the hotel did not show up at the airport and we were luft waiting for an hour and after that had to arrange a taxi for ourselves in the middle of the night. Upon checkout they tried to chargé us for this… if you are looking for a true five star experience you should consuder another hotel.

Very quiet property, pleasant staff. Rooms were clean with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. Not walkable to many things , would recommend renting a car as taxis can be a bit pricey. But it is very easy for the hotel to drop you off and pick you up . Would recommend if you need some peace and quiet .

The hotel is beautiful, magical even. Very relaxing and the dinning staff and food options were amazing. I had a few terrible experiences with the female front desk attendant Kadogo. We checked in our room and was little tired so wanted to order room service but the phone did not work, i called whattsapp number informed them about phone issues and i was told someone would come to fix, no one did. Our last night we wanted to clear up our bill in advance and request airport taxi. We we tried to contact our driver who brought us to the resort but was unable to, My husband and I approached kadogo, asking to settle our balance and to request the taxi, her attitude towards us was just completely confusing and disrespectful, after getting our final bill my taxi finally contacted me so I asked kadogo to remove that from the balance she was visibly upset she told us this is an issue because now she would have to explain to her manager that we canceled the taxi request, she gave us a complete lecture with a nasty attitude. At exactly 7:23am i called the front desk spoke with Kadogo requesting a cart to bring our luggage to the front desk by 8am, she didn't send anyone to get our stuff, my husband and I hauled our luggage ourselves from our room that was farther away. i got to the desk and asked why no one came to help. Kadogo told us everyone was busy helping other guests. She then told me i have to settle the balance i previously settled the night before for tax.

좋은점: 친절한 직원들, 체크인과 체크아웃때 아프리카 특유의 환영문화를 접할 수 있음. 시설이 잘 관리받고 있는 느낌을 받았고 리조트 규모 대비 객실 수가 적당해서 다소 프라이빗한 느낌도 받을 수 있음. 객실이 쾌적하고 에어컨이 시원하다 못해 추울 정도로 가동이 잘됨. 시설 내 운동시설이 별도의 건물에 있으며 스파 시설 또한 별도의 건물로 이용 가능. 안 좋은점: 리조트 주변에 정말 아무것도 없음. 밥을 먹으려고 해도 리조트 내 레스토랑을 이용할 수밖에 없는데 가격이 상당히 비쌈. 5성급이라 하더라도 적당한 가격이라 생각되지 않는데 잔지바르 자체가 물가가 좀 비싼거 같음. 공항에서 1시간 이상 소요됨. 아침 조식 미포함일 경우 1인당 23달러로 이용 가능한데 그정도의 퀄리티 또는 구성은 아님. 수영장이 생각보다 작음. 리조트 내에서 각종 문화체험 등을 신청할 수 있는데 이것도 참 비쌈. 리조트에서 인근 city로 이동하려고 할 경우 리조트에 콜택시 요청을 해야하는데 이동거리 10분 정도 소요되는데 우리나라 돈으로 거의 1.5만원 나옴. 총평: 정말 조용하고 편안하면서도 다소 럭셔리한 휴양을 즐기실 경우 추천.

Salim went above and beyond as did his staff. They are all amazing and contributed to a perfect stay. We highly recommend the immersive Tumbatu/Mkokotani tour where you learn about the history and customs of the local people while living a full work day (observing) the people. 100/100

Do not let the photos fool you! Be aware
From the very start .. when we entered through the gate there was pile of junk on the sides hidden in the back.. i should have known from then that i wouldn't like the place for the reasons below: Reception: Akward as they wouldnt help us carry our things but rather drum and dance while our hands are full. They had cats that they petted which is not nice idc stray or no but dont expect everybody to be friend with pets The chairs at the reception were so so dusty and had hair on them which is kinda gross. I couldnt even sit The landscape didnt encourage me to finish my stay. It was just dull and needed some work. Our room was upstairs on the steps ( stairway) which was fine .. moving around we needed a golf cart coz the place was massive. Going down to restuarant.. its brand new and pretty but the food was average. I had dinner only. The bed room is the only thing am happy with as its well decorated. When we opened our bed room window. It was a beach view which had construction work infront of it. They were building new cabanas or something using power tools which was the deal breaker for me. I left the hotel after my first night. And i booked for 2. And get ready to clomb so many stairs to eat.. NOTE: THEY HAVE NO ACCESSIBLE BEACH. !! Do not believe the photos ! Kitchen service is slow slow. The workers had holes on their shirts..

Hey we feel terribly sorry for your stay and experience. Apologize we did not live up to your expectations and promise to take these notes as constructive criticism and be better in the future. The photos are not meant to fool anyone. The beaches in Zanzibar are based on the tide at certain parts of the island. We do have that beach front for 6 months in the year and other guests have posted pictures themselves. Once again sorry for your experience.

Beautiful hotel!
The pictures of Le Mersenne don't do it justice! The hotel is brand new and so beautifully designed. Our room was gorgeous and had a huge balcony and amazing views of the turquoise sea. The service was second to none and the staff were so friendly. We loved every minute of our stay!
