Don't bother looking at the room photos online !!! Nothing alike, I picked an executive room that looked lovely, however the room we had was awful, run down, only plus was a comfy bed. Carpet was rank, decor was disgusting and the chair to sit on was stained, filthy and broken. We walked down a corridor and there were loads of dead blue bottle flies on the carpet so many looked like a polka dot carpet, and ones flying around, hence we didn't bother with breakfast.

Parfait pour une étape sur la route

Great location, clean, nice bedding good night sleep

Would have helped inform my choice if I'd have known it was also used by local council to house people with issues and others under witness protection.. yeah someone I chatted to having a ciggy told me that & also as I checked out there were two PCSO's at reception to collect her. I've never seen so many CCTV cameras in a hotel before. Must be 50 plus & all viewable from reception !! Looked like a strawberry from last guest still on the floor next to my bedside table after two days & that included one clean after the first night. No actual issues from anyone & hope they get the help they need but be aware you get groups gathering at the canal behind - sure some of which stay in the hotel I booked it because location was good for work & Wetherspoons nearby but won't ever be returning that's for sure - I've stayed all over in many places and this was just weird and I'd imagine a bit scary for some.

15yrs since our last visit and the passage of time hasn’t been kind to the establishment . From the lack of tlc in the old garden to the weeds on the oath and the unkempt front garden, first impressions were not good. The hotel or now restaurant with rooms is a tired old lady. Door are bashed and chipped, skirting’s are scratched and flaky. Carpets are tired and worn. Clean and tidy overall and with lovely friendly staff . Excellent food and service at meal times. But it is just tired, lacking an onsite manager.
