Woodsy Cabin
The cabin was a beautiful house set in the woods. We had plenty of comfortable space for the entire family of 12, which included children from 1 to 7. The beautiful wood plank stairway was a safety concern for the young children and the stairs high sheen was a bit slippery. This home is perfect for an adult get together and is a peaceful get away.

This place has potential but needs an overhaul!
Place is big enough to sleep several families but is in desperate need of some updates. The railing on the back deck is not sturdy and there is not anything hanging on the walls - no art, no mirrors, etc so sound carries ALOT Maybe some carpet in the basement would help. It was also VERY warm and we could not adjust the AC below 70. When communicating with the owner, he lowered it for us on the last night but he controls the temp. There is some nice woodwork (railing and floors) but there is a lot of paint missing from the walls and really needs to be repainted. Several drawers in the kitchen are broken too. We told the owner about the sticky lock on side door. Overall, we spent way too much for what we got and were disappointed.

Relaxing week in the woods
We were a group of 9 adults and 1 dog. The house had plenty of room for us all to spread out and be comfortable. We loved the large deck most of all. Kitchen amenities were much appreciated as we did a lot of cooking. Interior stairs were a little uncomfortable, just take it slowly on the way down. Beautiful house, communicative hosts. Thanks for a great stay!

Great space for a little family time!
This was a great space to spend time together as a family! Plenty of beds, 2 full bathrooms, large kitchen with lots of counter space. Table large enough to seat 14 people if you need it. The only thing that was hard was not having a washer where we could was a load of laundry, I would have definitely paid extra for that.

Great family getaway!
We spent the first night with extended family, which accommodated everyone appropriately. Then spent the rest of the time with just my immediate family. We enjoyed the view of the woods, the atmosphere, and playing many games on the oversized dinning table!

Family Christmas Kickoff
We really enjoyed our stay. We got together with extended family to relax, bake cookies, watch movies and play games. We walked to the Rock Dam area which was beautiful. Overall the property is great. Suggestions….some salt for the deck area would be good. One of the loft beds feels like sleeping directly on a box spring and the basement is very cold, but we would like to return next year!

Great family time
We had multiple families stay, and we were thankful to have plenty of beds for all. The proximity to the beach and playground were a plus - just a few minutes drive away. The kitchen was well equipped, and despite the “no soap” message, there was dish soap in the kitchen and hand soap in each of the bathrooms. The backyard was great space for croquet and ladder ball, and the big dining table (not updated in photos when we booked) was fabulous for meals and games. Two notes that others have commented on, too: the natural wood stairs were beautiful, but they were slippery and uneven - a few in our party scraped the backs of their ankles on the bark edging. Also, noise carries very well - no carpet or rugs to absorb sound - so nighttime with bed springs and bathroom trips and various kid noises were easily heard. Maybe bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Also, the basement is pretty cool with a cement floor, so pending the season, slippers would be a good move. Overall, though, we did enjoy our stay!

Worked for our large group gathering
On the whole, this rental was a good location for our gathering of two large families: enough space, enough rooms and beds, big enough table for meals, private location. The kitchen was well stocked with good pots and pans and we loved cooking on the gas stove. The house was super close to Rock Dam park and beach, so that was convenient. Everything else, though, was a good 20+ minute drive away. We loved being in Amish/Mennonite country, and got fresh veggies from their local farmstands. There are a few things that need improvement, however. Several of the beds sunk BADLY in the middle and ours on the main floor creaked with literally every movement. The A/C was very uneven. Those in the basement were cold, while those in the loft area sweated through the night. Also, there was an unpleasant smell coming from the kitchen area that remained for the rest of the stay. Overall, we were able to enjoy our stay and our time together, which is the main thing!

Family weekend
Plenty of room in this no frills house. Enough kitchen supplies, enough room to prepare and good fridge space. A great table size so all 9 adults and 3 kids fit. Nice to have the deck and fire pit we used every night. Children toys provided inside entertainment for the kiddos. The downside was not enough towels for a large group and the beds really were not comfortable. One of the “bedrooms “ downstairs was really a room with no windows or closet. Beach and park area was close and great to hang out! Nice enough place for our extended weekend.

Thank you for allowing us the pleasure to stay here. The cabin was clean, nicely stocked and large enough for our group of 7 adults. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to enjoy the fire pit.

Beautiful woodwork home
This home is beautiful and loaded with amazing woodwork throughout. 4 bedrooms with loft and 2 bathrooms which is plenty of room. It has a spacious kitchen with a huge table to fit all the guests. The host is very nice too. A great place to stay for your getaway!

Love the large family style table, there was sleeping for 14 people and if needed you could use the sofa down stairs, could have used more blankets in basement, gas stove made me nervous the burners would turn on by the slightest bump... Otherwise great evening thing was great.

Great time!
We stayed here with my whole family 10 adults and our kiddos. We had plenty of room for everyone and we all had a nice time. Some rode the atv trails, played at the beach/playground. Went fishing in Rock Dam Lake. The only down fall was not having a washing machine.

This is a nice property. We had internet all weekend. Sitting at the kitchen table all night was not the most comfortable. The stairs to the TV in the basement were short and there was not a railing. A few of beds need new mattress, seem to be worn out. For the price it is a nice place.

The property is beautiful, communication with the homeowner was very easy and he was always able to help. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prep some meals, and the house is very close to multiple public beaches.

Winter Stay
A group of us stayed here in late Dec. 2019. There was a lot of room for everyone and the main level kitchen / dining room were great. Bathrooms were clean and no issues with plumbing due to the cold, etc. We had solid Wi-Fi access throughout our stay. Any questions we asked were answered quickly as well. Both of the staircases seemed to be a bit of a safety concern due to the steps being slippery. One of our guests cut his hand on the logs which made up the railing as well. The road and driveway leading in were snow-covered and slippery (the nearby roads seemed to be mostly plowed). Also the remote for the downstairs TV was missing. Overall it was a very good stay, thank you!

Great house!
We had a group of 6 couples that were atving. It was a great house for us. Beautiful! We loved that we could ride our atvs right off the property. I would highly recommend this house.

New cabin. Very nice! Plenty of room (4 bdr+loft) kitchen well equipped.
If you really need WiFi, beware! It didn't work at all! (Maybe a minute or two here and there.) And no cell service either. We didn't feel there were enough bath towels. We would have brought our own, had we known. Plenty of kitchen towels. We were there March 15-17, 2019, still cold, so maybe a few extra blankets? Also, you have to either haul your own garbage home with you or pay $4 a bag to leave it. It's not the cost (we chose to leave ours- $20) no big deal, I just think ALL costs should be disclosed up front. This is also just my opinion🤪 We still would have rented the place. 😊

Lovely woodsy cabin weekend with friends
The interior of the cabin is built beautifully with handmade wood railing and accents wherever possible. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, implements, and appliances for feeding a crowd. Our group of friends enjoyed walking along the snowy road down to the creek and lake for the peaceful views and sitting around the dining table playing games. Comfy beds for everyone!

Amazing and nothing short of that!
We loved how spacious the entire retreat house was. The patio was a nice addition for us as well. We didn't have much expectations coming here since my group just needed a short retreat, but everybody was definitely wowed by everything. The rooms were nice. There were some trash left under some of the beds, but we didn't think much of it. We just simply cleaned some of it and went about our days. Overall, it was a great experience. We are already planning the next time we come to stay here already!

Great getaway!
Overall the weekend was a lot of fun! We came from the Milwaukee area so it only took 3.5 hours to get to with one stop. This was a family and friends trip, we had 7 adults, three 2 year old girls and a 6 month old boy! Had plenty of room. They had a lot of toys for the girls to play with in the basement. BRING BABY GATES! While all the staircases are beautiful the stairs are all open. We had 3 gates to block them all. The only thing that was a small issue was the air conditioning. While we visited the temp was close to 90 so of course we had the air conditioning on. The basement was FREEZING, the main floor was perfect and the loft was kind of warm. Hard to keep everyone happy especially with the little ones. We had a great time at the beach that was a couple blocks away! Another thing is a lot of people’s phones did not work and WiFi was slow. We weren’t there to be on our phones so it wasn’t a big issue but trying to listen to our music was a little bit. Would definitely visit again:)
