Explore the surrounding North York Moors National Park on foot or by bike, discovering rugged moorland, verdant forests and spectacular waterfalls along the way. The nearby River Esk, flowing below Sleights, is famous for its wild salmon, often leaping from the river, and fishing permits are available for those eager to catch their own dinner! Don't miss the historic port town of Whitby (4 miles), famed for its sandy beach, Medieval abbey and pretty streets lined with welcoming shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
