St Andrew's Church. West Bradenham used to be one of the homes of a prominent Norfolk farming family called Haggard; the author Henry Rider Haggard was born here. The tower of St Andrew's church is placed on the south wall rather than at the west end > 710112. St Andrew's is perhaps most noteworthy for the many stained glass windows > 710137 dating from the 19th century and executed by the best workshops of that time: the east window > 710137 - 710144 was made by William Wailes, and the O'Connor Brothers designed the windows set into the west wall > 710153. L’ascenseur Ă©tait en panne tout au long de notre sĂ©jour, 2 Ă©tages Ă  monter et Ă  descendre avec les valises Ă©tait une Ă©preuve avec les enfants. Une pensĂ©e pour les femmes de chambre.

TrĂšs bel Ă©tablissement rĂ©cemment rĂ©novĂ©. Les chambres sont trĂšs agrĂ©ables. Petit bĂ©mol sur les douches qui sont ouvertes et laissent donc l’eau aller dans la salle de bain. A part ce dĂ©tail tout Ă©tait parfait.

Grade I listed The church dates mainly from the 14th and 15th century, the west tower was rebuilt in 1864. There is a west tower, nave, chancel, north and south aisles and clerestory, north vestry, and south-west Chapel. The church is built in flint and stone with some checker work. The tower has an embattled parapet with crocketted pinnacles, the octagonal tower Lantern was added in the 19th century. The east end of the nave has a small Sanctus bellcote on the roof. The nave has north and south aisles of four bays with further bays for the north Chapel. The clerestory was added in the 15th century. There is a fine 15th century hammerbeam roof with carved Angels and original colouring. In the chancel, there is a 19th-century reredos with a painting of "The raising of Lazarus". The east window has glass by De la Roche of Paris, 1844. The pulpit is octagonal, with tester from 1636, and there is a 14th century piscina in the north east Chapel. There are several brasses in the church, however these are covered by carpet. The interior of the church has been whitewashed, including the coved chancel ceiling. There is a small two manual organ which was installed in 1990.
