The team at Candlewood Suites Virginia Beach Town Center deserves real credit for their outstanding customer service. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful. They made check-in smooth and were quick to address questions or requests throughout my stay.
That said, the property itself is in serious need of renovation. The furniture, flooring, and fixtures feel outdated and worn, and some areas of the hotel could use a deep cleaning. Itâs clear that maintenance and updates havenât kept pace with what guests expect from an IHG property.
One odd and inconvenient policy: basic kitchen appliances like toasters and blenders are locked up in the lobby, and you have to check them out. For an extended-stay hotel, where guests rely on those amenities, thatâs a hassle and not guest-friendly.
If IHG invests in much-needed upgrades and refreshes the space, this hotel has the potential to be a great optionâespecially with such an excellent staff already in place. But until then, expect great service paired with a less-than-ideal facility.
