Although everyone calls this home a "cabin" it is far more that a cabin. It is a beautiful retreat set by a beautifully quiet large pond {really a lake in many ways}. The home is large enough for 2-3 families without being cramped. The home is supplied really well with plates and pots and pans. And they are all in great shape. Although there is no A/C it wasn't needed and we had at least 2 days in the mid 80's. The walk down to the lake is relatively short maybe 1-1.5 min. The only down side to the lake is that at the shoreline there is no beach area and there are slippery rocks from the edge of the water to about 10-12 feet out. So if you have water shoes bring them. The fire pit area is great and we did a couple of bonfires. While you are there it's a must to go to Lake Placid. Given the Olympic history alone it is well worth the ride there as well as going to the Ski Jump facility. The owner, Ross, is great to talk to especially if you have questions about the area/property and he responds very quickly to an email. All in all this "cabin" is in a beautiful setting, very clean, spacious and well worth staying there and enjoying the pond/lake, the local hiking trails etc.
