Great stay in a room 11 which was more like a little separate home. Food quality was good and staff were nice. While overall cleanliness was decent, we had hairs in shower and over our toilet and my parent had some mess in their bathroom too. Really liked the branded ânewspapersâ with the property details and its history, as well as the separate lounge downstairs.
Good location and good food. Lovely room. Welcome a bit so and so. Kitchen staff more welcoming than the reception staff who, to be fair, were also manning the bar (although the bar wasn't overly busy when we arrived).
Lovely few days at the Rising Sun. Room excellent, food good. Our only complaint was a very loud noise which woke us at around 6.45 am, think it came from the kitchen area.
Suitably impressed. Lots of nice add ins in the room. Coffee machine, tea making, fridge with St Austell beers. Snacks.
Great variety of breakfast options.
Lovely location.đ
Was a lovely modern comfortable room the only slight let down was the music from the kitchen below was a bit loud on occasion.
Lovely food and great pub . Would stay again .
The best hotel/pub combination I have had the pleasure of staying in.
Over achieved in every category- location, huge room with everything you could wish for, food was excellent and the price competitive.
We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at The Rising Sun in lovely St. Mawes. The food was excellent, we had Sunday roast lunch, starters plus breakfast the next day - all delicious. Our room was extremely comfortable with a huge bed and good ensuite shower room. Liked the coffee machine and large flat screen TV. Will hopefully stay again in the future.
Friendly staff. Lovely spacious room and bathroom. A building full of charm and character but high spec modern comforts. Very dog friendly. All food and service faultless. Throughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recomend.
The Rising Sun has just been re-furnished really well . Staff really friendly , breakfast really good . Bedrooms really good and large . Would love to stay again . in a great location in the centre of St Mawes
Had a lovely room. very comfortable bed - all very clean.
good breakfast. friendly staff, despite being very over-stretched - like so many places. we were lucky to get one of their on-site parking places.
On arrival no body on reception, had to find someone to help us from the bar! The gentleman was polite and showed us our room, The room was a awful curtains hanging off , dust everywhere it was as though it wasnât cleaned in months. When i checked my bedding it was to my shock dirty! Dirt marks and hairs found ! I went down and spoke with the manager who apologised and arranged for the whole bedding to be changed. His explanation was that they were short staff! But that was all. We were there 3 nights nobody came to clean the room. Awful experience, i have to say the staff were very friendly and breakfast was nice .
