« The staff people were great. The food at the restaurant was great, the drinks even better. It's like staying at the pub in the Cotswalds country side, which was cool. Unfortunately, the rooms left a lot to be desired, especially at the price charged. The very, very squeaky bed, the windows with a ton of street noise, the shower/tub from the 1800s, which I thought was a period piece harking back to the pub idea, and essentially no friills everything. I've paid 1/5th the price at a basic Marriott...

« Thoroughly enjoyable. Staff were very helpful. Would have given it 5 stars but the room service was terrible on the second night - cold and inedible. Missing items, received items we didn't order. Expected better at the Ritz. »

« Everything you would want for a snow cabin experience and more. Everything worked, there were plenty of household appliances and the fireplace pumped some heat! The neighbors were very friendly especially if you had a dog. Owner was super helpful and available. Beds were 10 out of 10 comfortable. Would highly recommend. »

« Loved our stay here. It was very peaceful and the reception staff were very friendly. They were great with communication and instructions. We got to our cottage after hours and it was a smooth check-in with the instructions emailed to us. The cottage is very comfy and spacious.It was about a 10 min drive to everything like downtown Truckee and it said 15/20 min to Palisades Tahoe but felt like less. »

« We ended up going on a diff weekend due to storm blocking roads. Nice they allowed us to change despite policy. However few problems with our stay 1. Housekeeping. We asked for extra comforter / duvet as we had 4 guests in that each preferred own blanket. Multiple times had to re-ask as housekeeping kept taking them during cleaning and turndown. On top of this there were some shelves covered in thick layer of dust. Superficial job. 2. Food was OK. Manzanita was decent but lobby and taco place...

« The only downside was that the hot water for showers didn’t last long, and occasionally it wasn’t hot enough.Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay. We had a wonderful time in NorthStar »
