Ponderosa Pines at Northstar
We love this house! We have stayed here twice now, once last summer and once this winter. It is cozy, really well designed, has great furniture and lots of space for families and groups. We are coming back this summer.

Lovely NorthStar home
Clean, comfortable, well equipped home. Slept 8 nicely. Well kept house, not shabby. Large hot tub, nice gas fireplace, kitchen has plenty of dishes, pots, and appliances. Would rent again.

25th year of some Summer in Northstar
Comfortable, spacious woodsy home! The interior made it feel you were outdoors. We enjoyed the light and airiness. The kitchen and family area were wonderful. My husband enjoyed the work area for the couple hours he spent there each day. The rec center was great as always. Definitely on our list for a revisit :) Thank you for sharing your space :)

Ponderosa Pines at Northstar
We loved the house,lovely furniture and linens, the beds were super comfortable, the bathrooms were beautiful, hot tub was huge and very clean. Criticisms: pots and pan didn't have lids, and the cleaning crew could have done a better job, there were cobwebs and dead bugs in the windows,and many surfaces were dusty.

Highly recommended!!
We loved everything about Ponderosa Pines and without a doubt we would stay there again! The house was stocked with everything we needed, it was the most stocked rental that we've ever stayed in. From an air fryer to children's dishware you name it, they had it! The house had more than enough room for 2 families. We really enjoyed being spaced out for privacy and then coming together for family meals and gathering in the living room and personal jacuzzi!

Wonderful home in Northstar
This two story home has generous living spaces for everyone to play games (included: Scrabble, puzzles, Apples to Apples, Jenga and others), watch TV, read or have quiet conversations. The large open floor plan on the main floor is great for engagement during meal prep and the large dining table with six counter stools accommodates 10 - 16 easily. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, pots/pans, spices and a few condiments. We enjoyed the private hot tub, on-site laundry and access to hiking right off our backyard. We loved having access to the recreation center - though the thunder clouds came and cut our pool time before we even had a chance to swim! Best of all, our bed was very comfortable. One room does have a window with no shade (upper triangular), so bring eye patches if you are sensitive to early morning light!

Neighbors are a pain
House was nice. Location was great. One of the neighbors (a permanent resident) complained constantly about noise - not just from our house but also other houses up and down the street. We weren't making THAT much noise. In fact, when I walked up the street to see how much noise there was, I was suprised at how little the was. They even called the police!!

Ponderosa Pines at Northstar
House is beautiful and stocked very well. No issues in getting into driveway despite snow. I would say that it's one of the top places that I have stayed at in Tahoe. I think it would've been nice to include information on how to take the shuttle and which shuttle stop to wait for at Northstar. Luckily my friends had the correct App downloaded from a previous rental and knew how to call it. Also staff at Northstar were able to help out with which stop to wait for the shuttle back. Shuttle hours etc would be important to add as well for a perfect stay.

Nice house BUT....Last time I'll rent via a Management Company!
This is a very nice house, however, the resident neighbors do not like the short term rentals.
On one occasion, one of our cars was left next to the driveway while we had loaded our bikes and gone riding for the morning. There was one car in the driveway. Within minutes, neighbors had called the county requesting car to be towed. Car was not blocking anything and was off the street. According to Tahoe Getaways. Residents can park as many cars as they like anywhere, but "short term rentals" were not allowed to park anywhere but in the driveway.
After 3 voicemails, numerous emails, and texts, threatening me with a $1500 fine plus towing fees, we shortened our plans and raced back to the house to move the car.
The next day, we had a visitor come over to the house for dinner. He parked his car in front of the driveway in the street. As we sat down for dinner the calls started coming in. $1500 fine on the way unless that car is moved immediately. I explained that my friend was visiting for an hour or two and we were having dinner. No excuse! Get it out of there. Many other cars were parked in the street but that was ok because they belonged to the homeowners.
Most ridiculous rules I've ever heard of.
SECONDLY, Tahoe Getaways seem nice but they will nickel and dime you to death!
Want to check in an hour early - $75
Don't take all the trash out - $50
Don't clean the BBQ - $50 (no brush to clean it)
Leave something behind by mistake - $50 to look for it (whether they find it or not)

Disappointing communication with property manager/owner; terrible Placer County/Northstar parking
One of the main reasons we selected this home was bc of the hot tub; but while driving up to the cabin we received an email stating the hot tub was not working.
We called the property manager Tahoe Getaway who initially said the part wouldn't arrive until after our 7 day stay. At this point it would seem reasonable to extend some credit, but there was no offer. We called, expressed our disappointment. A handyman came on Tuesday, no change. If a vendor came as promised on Thursday, no change. Very disappointed not to receive compensation for the hot tub not available for use.
Evening #2, we had friends over for dinner. They parked their two cars along the street at the bottom of the driveway. Less than 90 minutes later, we received a knock on our door where two parking police from Placer County informed us of a ticket for $1,500 (two $750 tickets, one for each vehicle), claiming we were in violation of the HOA rules. According to the police, prior to issuing a citation, the owner or their agent are supposed to afford the guests 60 minutes to move their cars (which any sane person would do), but we never received a call, text or email telling us to move the cars..just the ticket. That night, Tahoe Getaways charged my credit card for the $1,500. We are actively challenging this charge with our bank.
Regardless of our active dispute of fraudulent charge by Tahoe Getaways, we still expect a refund of some sort for the broken hot tub.
