The space
With 2 primary suites, there is no need to flip a coin to decide who gets the bedroom with the ensuite bath. Please note that there is an additional suite that is rented separately to other guests at the back of the property. This unit is separated by a very large shared patio.

Our kitchen provides the perfect backdrop for a delicious meal. Spend your time prepping and staring out the front patio doors at Lake Arenal and Arenal Volcano - it takes the work right out of the job. Then enjoy dinner at the dining room table or the outdoor patio table undercover with twinkling lights overhead.
You can access The clubhouse at Vistas which offers many amenities including a pool, spa, gym, media room, and breakfast. Walking trails to enjoy all the wildlife that surrounds this beautiful place.
So many activities to do, pickleball with 4 covered courts 10 minutes away. Lake Arenal kayaking, boating, horseback riding, biking, hot springs, and river rafting.

You will have the entire home to yourselves.

Allowing others to use our home grants us the freedom to travel around the country. We won't be on-site but we are available anytime needed by text and telephone. We have helpers in the community should a need arise that requires someone onsite.

Vistas Del Lago is a uniquely designed gated community overlooking beautiful Lake Arenal and Vulcan Arenal. Enjoy breathtaking views of the mountainside while listening to toucans croaking, parrots chirping and monkeys howling in the trees, some of which may be on the property you are staying in. We are blessed to have a Clubhouse with an exercise room, saltwater pool, and common area. There is a part-time restaurant that offers breakfast 3 days a week and has a wonderful area with a TV and a large selection of books and videos.

Our community is comprised of ex-pat and national residents alike. Some residents live here year-round while for others this is their vacation home.
Our sense of community is what makes Vistas Del Lago the premier gated community at Lake Arenal. Each homesite within Vistas is a minimum of 1.5 acres which provides wonderful privacy and tranquility. Take part in the activities at the clubhouse or enjoy your own solitude, the choice is always yours.

A vehicle is absolutely recommended should you decide to visit us. However we have had guests who came without one and we can recommend driving services to get you out and about as needed.

We are only 3 miles from the picturesque town of Tronadora, with the prettiest park in Guanacaste, where you can find everything you need including, a grocery store, butcher, bakery, liquor, 2 restaurants, and for those looking for the nightlife, there is also a bar.

An easy 1.5 hour drive from Liberia Airport and 3 hours from San Jose. If arriving in San Jose with less than 3 hours of daylight we recommend that you stay over near the airport and get a fresh start in the morning. Most of the roads are paved however not well marked and there are lots of twists and turns.

We have plenty of parking area.

This community has 24-hour gated access. On-site security provides peace of mind that you and your belongings will be safe and secure.
The community is gated so access will be initially granted by security. A gate fob will be provided to you for easy access in and out of the community.
Firstly, we want to warmly welcome you to Casa Mariposa located in the premier Lakeview community of Vistas Del Lago Arenal. As our guests, our main priority is for you to enjoy our home and its amenities with ease.

If you are bringing your beloved pet they MUST be house-trained not to relieve themselves inside the home. We would kindly ask that you clean up behind them outside so that future guests do not have to walk into or onto that :). When walking around in the community they must be on a leash and they are not permitted on the Clubhouse property. Lastly, we would ask that your pet not be left alone on the property. If you are visiting the area and planning to go to an event or activity that does not permit your pet to attend we can help you arrange a pet sitter.
