Dear guest, I am sorry to say that you have not visit Blue Ocean hotel, it might be some other hotel, because all our rooms have windows and hot water. Our Hotel Manager is young and not outdated.

Superficially looks ok but worst stay in Sri Lanka
Arrived, nobody at reception. Walked through the hotel couldn’t find a soul. Had to call and wait 15 minutes for someone to arrive. Was taken to a dark dingy room downstairs with dirty sheets and dirty walls with what looked like leaking water stains. Had booked a room with a balcony so disputed this. Was then taken to a room upstairs that at least had natural light and was larger. Were told he was doing us a favour as the room cost 65 per night. Spoke to other customers who arrived later in the room next door and they had paid the same as us. It rained and water leaked in under the door in all rooms upstairs. There were no rooms to move us to. The wifi was terrible and basically unusable. The excuse was it was weather dependant. Yep, it didn’t work in any weather. Don’t stay here.

its not a 4 star hotel. double check before book.
hotels.com says its 4 star hotel, but it seems not even 2 star. booked normal and deluxe rooms. but they gave all normal rooms. we booked with breakfast. they said we have to pay for breakfast. room is empty, no toilet rolls, no soap. even bed sheet you have to ask them. room is ok but the bath room is very small. if you get the hotel for very less price like 20 pounds for double room then its fine, otherwise you will be disappointed. my trip to east coast of srikanka ruined by this.

For the money - not good - nice guy there (he did bring us good breakfasts of his choosing) but very little English and hotel in poor condition - eg. instead of top bed sheets we were given one wrap and one curtain; strange smell in room and bathroom not clean; info said room service and tea/coffee maker and safe in room - didn't exist; whilst going upstairs very easy to bash your head or shoulder on overhanging ledge; we wanted a room on the first floor a room open to the sea air (all rooms downstairs hot smelly and stuffy) but had to pay extra for this as we were told we'd paid in dollars (sterling on email) which converted to less Sri Lankan rupees than my calculation from sterling - it was confusing. There was no easy access to ocean (a terrace through a bolted door with 2 plastic chairs on it) and ocean too rough to swim in - very interesting area but not a good place for a beach holiday

Dear Janice, Thanking your for our reply. I will follow up, why you did get curtain in stead of bed sheet. If you had Sterling Pounds, it will be converted into Sri-Lankan rupees. Since you are paying online, how is it possible to get confused about currency conversation? The rares used to be in USD generally. The ocean used to be very heavy between November and January end, why it is not seasonal in east coast in that period.
