Farmhouse on working vineyard on Westside Templeton

Welcome to the Plum Orchard Vineyard Family Farmhouse, your private escape in the heart of Paso Robles wine country! This newly 100% renovated 2-story, 1000 sf, 2BR, 1BA, 1900’s classic Farmhouse was originally purchased from a Sears Catalog! It’s a complete throwback but with modern comforts. The property has an amazing history as a dairy for decades, as a vineyard nursery and now as an active vineyard providing high quality grapes to local wineries with an impressive stacking of 90+ point wines. For so many reasons, Plum Orchard Vineyard Farmhouse is both a centrally located respite and a launch pad for a perfect Paso Wine Country getaway!
You and your guests will enjoy the feeling of being tucked away in nature on this 16+ acre property that’s just minutes away from everything the greater Paso area and SLO County offers. The farmhouse itself is nestled in the property’s 12-acre active vineyard in the highly praised Templeton Gap and while this adorable country house dates back to the early 1900s, it has been lovingly updated with all the modern conveniences and amenities you’d expect today. Although located just a few minutes off the freeway, the only sounds you’ll hear as you doze off in the crisp country air are the soothing sounds of owls nearby and the smooth hum from frogs down in the creek.
So, whether you are here for a world class wine and food experience, hitting the county fair or rodeo, attending concert at the Vino Robles Amphitheatre, heading to Cal Poly, ziplining in Santa Margarita, hitting one of the many SLO County beaches, or looking for some much needed rest & relaxation…Plum Orchard Vineyard Farmhouse is the place to be.
SLEEPING & BATH ACCOMMODATIONS
Upstairs are the two bedrooms, each with its own closet. The master bedroom features a king-size bed. The guest bedroom also features a comfy king-size bed. Additionally, the living room has a queen size sleeper sofa.
Bathroom amenities, quality luxe linens and comfy robes are all provided. Both bedrooms share the bathroom, located on the first floor.
LIVING & ENTERTAINING (Interior)
The house itself is airy and charming, with an appliance-stocked kitchen and a sun-filled dining room. Along with the kitchen and dining room, the downstairs also includes a breakfast nook, bathroom, and the living room equipped with a smart TV with a Bose Sound Bar and Roku. The living room has ample seating for 3 on a sleeper sofa, a second sofa for 4 and 2 side chairs. The eat-in kitchen has a dining table for 4. The kitchen, the heart of the house, features open shelves, a 6-burner stove and has access to the backyard, dining room and living room. The dining room has a classic farmhouse table with seating for 6 and access to the backyard through sun-filled glass doors.
LIVING & ENTERTAINING (Exterior)
Enjoy acres of privacy and quiet! At Plum Orchard Vineyard Farmhouse, wine country comes to you! Our vines are farmed as a sustainable and organic practices boutique vineyard. Feel free to take a late morning stroll through the vines, enjoy a game of cornhole, or settle around the fire pit under the stars. The backyard has a dining table with seating for 4 to enjoy dining al fresco. We want you to enjoy yourself and make yourself at home.
INTERNET & WIFI
Access Spectrum high speed internet with the guest Wi-Fi password. Now you can work & play on the vineyard!
GUEST ACCESS
You’ll have plenty of space to frolic, BBQ with friends, and enjoy the property. It is important to know that there are other full-time occupants at the upper house and although they reside many acres away, please stick to the lower part of the property.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
We hope you enjoy the charm of being on a vineyard as much as we do. Depending on when you come, there might be a tractor running through the vines or folks working in with the grapes — they’ll never be at the house or in the yard, but it’s pretty cool to watch the process!
GUEST AMENITIES
We provide personal amenities including soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, paper products, kitchen necessities such as dishwashing detergent, dishwasher soap and trash bags. The kitchen is stocked with the essential stapes: coffee, tea, olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, and spices.
THE IMMEDIATE AREA
You will be in Paso Wine Country central, yet Paso is not just for wine anymore! You’ll find incredible distilleries and craft breweries close by alongside great culinary options with amazing eateries in Templeton, Paso Robles and Atascadero alike.
If you are new to the area, Plum Orchard is located in Templeton’s highly desirable West side with easy access to all of Paso Robles Wine Country’s top wineries. So whether you are a vino expert or simply along for a great ride, Paso Robles (and its many tasting rooms) is just a 10-minute drive from the house and downtown Templeton less than a 5-minute drive. Just minutes from Tin City (and two wine makers who use the liquid gold produced on Plum Orchard Vineyard – Turtle Rock and Monochrome) as well as many others including Turley Wine Cellars, Rotta, Donati Family and Venteux Vineyards, are all just around the corner. Right off the 101, it has easy access to 46W and is just minutes to Trader Joe’s and downtown Templeton, where you can also find Clava Wines.
The downtown Paso Park offers free summer concerts from June through August every Thursday evening, while Templeton showcases their summer concerts on Wednesday evenings. Pack a picnic basket, a bottle of wine or two, your beach chairs and enjoy local musicians belting out everything from Jazz to Rock and Blues.
PROVISIONS
This area has some great Farmer’s Market options. On Monday’s, it’s Los Osos & Baywood’s turn. Next up is Paso’s on Tuesday, followed by Atascadero on Wednesday. Head to SLO for the world-famous Thursday night market and choose between Avila and Cambria on Friday. Whatever you do, don’t miss Templeton’s Saturday Farmers Market! If you don’t get your farm to table fill and want to stock up on Trader Joe’s, just head down the road a bit on Vineyard. You are also a few miles from Albertson’s on Niblick. Smart & Final is located on Spring Street at 20th or off of the Del Rio exit going south. While at Trader Joe’s you can pick up some fresh caught fish at Pier 46 Fish Market or head on over to the butcher, J&R Meats, for some grass-fed local meats and game. Back up in Paso you can find a few quality cheese shops, Vivant Fine Cheese and Di Raimondos Italian Market and Cheese Shop, along with some cigar shops, Boyd’s, and Third Base Market & Spirits.
RESTAURANTS
Are too many choices a bad thing? No way. When it comes to great food and both Templeton and Paso are packed with great restaurants. Stay a week or two so you can try all of them! Italian, French, Irish, Asian, Mexican, even Argentinean are just a few. From pizza to 5-course meals, Paso Robles has come of age in its dining options and Templeton is not far behind with classic local eatery McPhee’s, where you can find some of the best wood-fired steaks in town. Don’t forget to try Jack’s in either Paso or Templeton and the newest restaurant in town, Pig Iron.

There is no shortage of both indoor and outdoor activities in the area. Whatever you are here for, you’ll find that and more - wine, beer, spirits tasting, hot air ballooning, horseback riding, water park, jeep rides, ziplining, Farmer’s Markets, concerts at Vina Robles Amphitheatre, spas, beaches, Morro Bay, Hearst Castle, Cambria…take your pick. Great for a small family
This was perfect for us with our young child and dog. It's a quiet neighborhood, which suited us just perfectly. We choose this as it's close to our family, whom we were visiting. It was a great spot for us and would come back for sure.

Lovely location for a rural experience
The location of this farmhouse is perfect for visiting wineries in and around Paso Robles. It is a rural farmhouse experience and we appreciated the level of care and attention the owners made to make it comfortable while retaining as much of the original structure as possible. The one bathroom is located downstairs from the bedrooms - and the owners have thoughtfully installed lighting on the staircase to help guide you in the middle of the night. The kitchen is very well appointed in terms of cookware and service ware. Plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy the serenity of the country. There were a few issues with infrastructure as the wifi wasn't working and the heating/cooling system wasn't intuitive to us. I think it is important to note the house uses well water, which is better in many ways, but it has a distinct sulfuric odor and we were grateful for the filtration system for drinking water. It's a charming place and I hope the new owners continue to make it available for vacationers! The location was really lovely.
