« Good as a base for the surrounding areas. Quirky, could do with a refresh, but otherwise very accommodating host and the pub next door does good food & beers »

« We weren’t expected until the following day. Therefore our apartment was not prepared for us. Heating and fridge hadn’t been turned on. The rooms were dull and disappointing. Although everywhere seemed clean we kept finding used tissues in the bathroom, under the bed and tucked down the sofa. »

« Lovely cottage with a few quirks. Issues: frying pan/wok not compatable with induction hob! (Get to ALDI middle aisle). Light switch for dining area lose. Both loo seats lose - risk of slippage! »

« Fantastic stay in a wonderfully comfortable house. Loads of extras to make our stay very enjoyable. Nothing was left to chance. We look forward to returning to The Tipsy Bee. »

« Had such a wonderful stay here. Loved the barn, so pretty and had everything we needed. The back lawn is huge and it was delightful to sit im the sitting room with the doors open in the early morning listening to the birds. The owners have the friendliest cat we have ever met. Brilliant location for accessing Durham. »

« It was ok for a one night stop over, which is fine if that’s all you want. Don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t fault Angie as a host, very approachable. But there is a lack of information about the units that don’t tell you that there is literally just a door between adjoining rooms, and like a previous review noted, very little sound privacy between you and what could be other guests, luckily for us there were no other guests either side of us the night we stayed. »

« Our host Ian was a really nice guy. The first surprise was that we could not drink the water. Six bottles were given to us but generally we felt obliged to buy our own. The general state of furniture is best described as jaded and the beds were far from comfortable. The water was never hot and sometimes luke warm. It would have been nice to have a secure garden for our dog but was a very short drive to some fantastic wooded paths. We could not fault the location. »

« Lovely place, great location on the high street. Private, off street parking is very helpful - the entrance to it is through a very narrow archway which was a tight squeeze for an SUV. The property itself is well kept & equipped. Very clean and nicely furnished. Communication from the owner by text on the day with all the check in info was very helpful. »

« Cant not fault the place. Its was clean, easy to gain access with it being unmanned, shops near by for food. Will stay again if in the area. »
