Une belle adresse au calme
Charmant petit hôtel à l'écart de la foule de Tamarindo, le trajet en taxi coûte 5 dollars jusqu'au centre donc c'est pratique. Plage agréable pour le sunset, un cocktail est offert tous les soirs pour en profiter. La plage est à une minute à pied par un charmant petit chemin. La baignade est sportive mais la plage est souvent déserte. Personnel très sympathique. Petit bémol sur le choix dans les restaurants, la carte est identique le midi et le soir.

Il y avait beaucoup de fourmis dans la villa mais propre. Le personnel est sympathique. La plage pas très belle. À Taramino les plages sont super belle et on peut faire du surf.

L’accueil est incomparable et le site magnifique. La plage n’est pas accessible pour la baignade à marrée haute. C’est une plage de sable et de rocher volcanique.

Très bel hôtel, au calme de Tamarindo et en même temps très proche de centre. Bel endroit, beaux détails , staff très gentil, belle piscine, beau coucher de soleil sur la plage, pas la meilleure pour la baignade mais sympa pour les enfants pour jouer et observer crabes et poissons dans les rochers. Bonne cuisine, hôtel à recommander

Un tres bel établissement nature, personnel très attentionné et au top sur tout! Petit dejeuner bien garni. Un upgrade possible en villa en milieu de séjour car nous étions sur un long séjour en chambre double, toute la famille a beaucoup apprécié ces 4 jours spécifiquement!! Très bon hotel (logement), resto corect, sauf la "caleta" (dortoir sieste!), mais pas de plage baignable (rochers dangereux) Solution: faire 1 à 2 km à pied et aller ailleurs...là où commence la grande et vraie plage de Tamarindo, avec très bel hotel accueillant (diners et animation, patron Suisse...) Très bonne excursion à Arenal avec chauffeur sympa (Hugo), guide tortues fantaisiste et nul, ne sait même plus parler espagnol... Environnement calamiteux (carcasse de condominium)

This is our 3rd time staying at Cala Luna and we absolutely love it! It gets better each time we return! The rooms are so incredibly lovely, the howler monkeys surrounding the property are a delight but above all the staff is the best! Especially in the restaurant and bars - they are so incredibly welcoming and nice! Andres the bartender is a true mixologist (you have to try his mezcal cocktails)! The beds are so comfortable and it’s a one minute walk to a not crowded beach! The room are well thought out with great detail! We will absolutely come back again!

Truly enjoyed our stay at the Cala Luna. We stayed in a 2 Queen Bedroom. The hotel is eco friendly, be sure to have your own reusable water bottle -- they have water coolers on site. It's a quick walk to the beach and the pool wonderful. I loved the array of food offered and amazing drinks to cleanse the body and soul! If you like cats, they have many cute kitties on the grounds. Super friendly. The hotel is walkable to town, about 20-25 minutes. You can also rent bikes, pay $6 to take shuttle to/from hotel or have the hotel rent a golf cart for you! I would definitely come back. The staff is very helpful and super friendly!

Beautifully put together!
Cala Luna is a beautifully put together property. Compact and comprehensive. The staff is wonderful. Our dinners were terrific. I had a good massage. Our room 301 sometimes had an odor of waste, I suspect we were near their disposal. Other rooms are probably fine. For a tropical local the lack fruit at breakfast was noticeable to customers.

Great stay at a beautiful Boutique Hotel
Me, my wife and son had a great time at Cala Luna. Its a unique setup indeed, with paths snaking through the jungle en-route to your room or villa. We arrived at night and it was rather impressive. The staff were friendly, professional and very attentive. The chefs/cooks are top notch. We had a secluded deluxe room which was really nice and private(until other guests arrived in the adjoining room). It was very clean with a soaker tub you can skate board in. The room isn't that large but was fine for us. Only small issue was the fact that there was a room attached and we could hear through the walls easily if you have loud neighbors. This was only for the last night before we left in the morning so I think they schedule the guests in a manner to help avoid this which was appreciated. The cleaning staff was very efficient. The beach was a short fun walk down a path at the rear near our room. We saw howler monkeys overhead, an eagle/hawk?(lol), and some other wildlife withing the hotel grounds. you might hear some action on your roof at night :). probably why you cant open the room windows. The hotel is in an awesome location, the perfect distance from the action to get peaceful nights and close enough to get the center of it all in minutes. Next time I think we will stay in one of the 2 bedroom villas they have with a private pool, private parking and separate entrance. I highly recommend Cala Luna. Pua Vida!

Cala Luna is a wonderful choice if looking to stay in the Tamarindo area! It’s not right in the heart, so you are away from the hustle and bustle of the city but also generally close. We walked most times, about a 10-15 minute walk or a 5 minute bike right (free bikes for use). The staff was absolutely wonderful. I had a 90 minute spa treatment from Priscilla and I can’t recommend her enough, she was amazing. We did a fishing charter and the chef cooked up our fresh mahi mahi. We are thinking about exploring getting married at this place! Such a peaceful vibe, very clean rooms and attentive staff. Can’t recommend enough!

This hotel is in a great spot in the city walking distance to the main tourist trap area and close to a great Beach for sunset drinks provided by the hotel. All in a great experience, clean well appointed, checks all the boxes.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights. We were looking for a nice small hotel experience with attention to detail. Cala Luna lived up to our expectations. The staff was excellent and were always aware if we needed something, but also left us alone if we didnt. They were always keeping the area clean and tidy. We loved the massage treatment, which was like nothing we had experienced before. We tried yoga ( which we are inexperienced at) but she made us feel so welcome. We were pleasantly surprised how close the ocean was, just down a private pathway. A nice walk along the beach to Tamarindo (as long as the tide is out) or another option is a safe walk on the sidewalks down into town (15 mins). The whole area is very pet friendly. Dogs on the beach and cats at the hotel. Our airport shuttle driver Hugo, from the hotel, was so kind, he even serenaded us with a lovely Costa Rican song. We would most definitely come again.

Excellent for Calm Beach Holiday
Excellent service throughout. Clean and spacious. Each room has a nice outside covered patio with hammock area. Poolside was relaxing and calm with exception of nearby howler monkeys :). Food was delicious. Spa treatments were excellent. And of course one minute walk down to the beach. The only downside was what the hotel couldn’t control - the mosquitos. Wonderful place to holiday. Will return again.

Karol was AMAZING! She provided the best customer service ! She was able to upgrade our room honoring my VIP status. The al-La-carte breakfast was pretty good. Room was very clean and bed was cozy. Super cute boutique hotel. They are also connected to a gorgeous white sand beach. Very close to a lot of great restaurants

Beautiful small resort with dense jungle paths and lovely pool. Serene and very eco-friendly. Food was amazing and made from scratch with organic, plant-forward ingredients and fresh fish. Vegan options. Staff was great. Our king room was huge with double rain head showers. Beach is a very short walk past the pool, but small with rocks. Can easily walk to better beaches though. $5 ride into Tamarindo or walkable. If you want to be away from the busyness of Tamarindo, like we did, it's a great option. Already miss the food and the monkeys! Best green salad ever!

The property surroundings were amazing, well maintained, and the staff were very friendly and quick to help out with our requests. We stayed in the villa and everything inside was amazing except for the couches and the dining chairs, which were uncomfortable to sit and relax on. They were too firm for comfort. Also, it would have been helpful if the breakfast buffet items were clearly labeled as veg/non-veg, explaining the contents of each food item.otherwise,everything was wonderful , great staff, great taxi service, and good beach access and amazing views of sunset from the entry point. Would definitely recommend this property!!!
