Was a really nice apartment to stay in and quiet considering you felt like you were in the midst of it al. My only suggestion for our apartment would be new pillows (they were all flat) and blockout curtains over the blinds to keep the morning sun out.

Sauna, pools, games room, tennis court, carpark out back for large vehicle too high for underground carpark Building getting pretty old n tired with fabric furniture in our room, grubby, stained, fridge old, no washing powder, detergent, in what was a serviced apartment.

The highs and the lows of our stay
The best things about this place are the location, the high rise great views if one is lucky to get a top floor unit, the heated pool, jacuzzi and the well maintained grounds and facilities. The worst were the condition of the bedroom - very old bed and mattress, cupboards, and old worn out smelly dusty carpet, both long overdue for replacement; as well the lack of proper cleaning all over - dirty windows, inside cupboards, bathrooms, dry eggs yolk on plates, hairs on smelly couches etc. Unit did not smell or look fresh and clean upon entry which created quite unpleasant impression.

Good location is about it for the positives…!! Building is old and really needs a refresh. Nearly $400 a night far too much for this place… Everything was clean for most of our 4 night stay. The garage had items scattered all throughout and looked a bit like a storage ground for old unwanted items…!! Our unit was tidy enough and had modern fittings. I chatted to other people staying and they said their units looked like they had not been changed since built. Really old fittings etc.. Ammenities were ok… Pool was good though needed a good clean around the edges. Communal areas were tidy. Rear fence near the putt putt had fallen down and there were old rusty gates tied onto the fence to replace it..?? All in all, around 3 star at best for a 4 star price. Plenty of nice places in the same area.. We will not be returning and are disappointed considering the usual standards of accommodation we are used to for the money…

Your stay was $340 per night for a standard two bedroom plus high season and mid season tariff rates for the dates booked. We have noted that the garage looks untidy and pool cleanliness. The putt putt fence was a temporarily fix so the putt putt would not have to be closed off for guests. Wonderful stay we will be back
Fantastic stay, great facilities. We had a 2 bed appt on7th floor. Kitchen was a bit tired, but adequate with good pots/pans, plenty of crockery and cutlery. Rest of apartment was well furnished with great views.beds and linen were spotless & comfortable. A few areas of detail were missed in cleaning but overall pretty clean & good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Any issues were dealt with immediately and willingly. Excellent tennis court with booking system and floodlights. Best to Take your own tennis balls, there are rackets to borrow if you need them. Beautiful heated pool, hot tub and sauna.great pool for toddlers too. Mini golf well kept. We didn’t use games room but it looked good with table tennis, air hockey, pool table, ( need to pay for some). The road is a bit noisy but we didn’t really notice it as the noise blurs in with the sound of the waves! Location across from surf club great for swimming in sea. Local surfboard hire $30 for 4 hours.

Disappointed
Our 4 day booking through Hotel.com caused problems because we had to change rooms, the booking system doesn't show individual rooms available. We were told by the manager we would be changing rooms on the second day. We waited around for our new room only to be told by the manager he made a mistake and it was the 3rd day we were changing rooms. this more or less wasted the second day and then the 3rd morning. Although the manager accepted he'd made a mistake the way he spoke to us was very disappointing. When we suggested he leave us where we were so we weren't inconvenienced any further and put the people we were vacating for in the unit we were changing to for one night, he refused and his comments were very degrading, coming across that they were more important because they were staying 7 days. He did offer us for an extra night free but we couldn't accept it for work commitments on the Monday. He then said we could have a 2pm check out Sunday. When we changed rooms on the Saturday he reversed this saying we had to be out by 10am Sunday. This was a weekend away for my wife's birthday only for her to end up in tears with the way we were spoken to and treated, like we were second class. Very disappointed even with $25 voucher he gave us.

Hello, As you pointed out, we did offer you an extra night, completely free of charge, which you declined due to your work committments, we offered you a late check-out, which you declined and we did try to compensate the inconvenience with the voucher, we also upgraded you to a better room. We understand your frustration but we did try to compensate for your inconvenience. We were unable to keep you in the upgraded room as we were completely booked out for the time period you stayed and we had our reception staff looking for any possible way to keep you in the room but, we just simply could not do that. Good value for small family
Fantastic spot, awesome facilities, big apartment (2 bedroom). Accomadating and friendly staff. Right across the road from great beach which is patrolled. Floor wasnt very clean but everything else was fine. Foxtel/Cable was disconnected in our room so only had standard free to air channels.

The unit we were in was partially renovated but comfortable enough and met our needs well. Cleanliness was fair - filthy under the beds - haven't been vacuumed in a very long time with lots of debris. Dishwasher wasn't working but we didn't need it during our short stay. Well positioned and staff very helpful and obliging.

Great for family of eight.
Weather was Great. The location, couldn't ask for a better area. Close to Food, cafes, Great sea views. Hotel was very clean, quiet, and safe. The kids had activities to keep them entertained. Would recommend and come back again.

The Mandolin, although a little bit older was a delightful place to stay and I only wish we could have stayed longer. The two bedroom apartment was well laid out and quite spacious, with everything a family could need. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with utensils and cooking equipment and the laundry did its job amicably. While the multiple ceiling fans and single air con unit kept the whole apartment cool and refreshing. The views from the balcony were amazing, across to the beach and down the length of the coast. Speaking of the beach, it was just a quick jaunt across the road and past the lifesaving club. Food was well catered for with a number of different options within easy walking distance. Although, to be fair, being peak season, the long delays at most of the eateries were a bit of a problem. The only problems we encountered were the cleanliness of our particular apartment, with a few niggling things like dirty utensils etc in the kitchen cupboard and a few other minor oversights. The other, more impacting problem was the wifi, it was in a state of upheaval at the time of our stay and we were only able to log on a few times (after many, many attempts) for up to about 6 minutes before being booted. I would imagine those to be a one off type deal and they didn't really detract from the overall pleasantness of the apartment, or the location. The staff were all very friendly and eager to help and communication was great.

Very good location. The beach is across the road infron of the hotel. The room was a bit dated. We were on the 4th floor and the noise from the road was sometimes annoying. You need to get higher floor. Will be staying again in the resort.

The staff at The Mandolin were exceptional!! I would definitely stay there again. Everything from confirmation calls to early checking the staff were the reason why I would recommend the mandolin to all my friends. It was a fabulous location and very comfortable for a relaxing weekend with friends.
