Disappointed
While the staff were very nice to say the least we were shocked by our room. The photo on the website actually did show the room we got but it was obviously shot with a fisheye lens or something that distorted the actual size of the room. The room was far smaller than what we expected. Light controls were taped to the wall next to the bed. The toilet would not flush a toilet tissue and we told someone about this but it never was repaired. The included breakfast was about a tablespoon of yogurt with some oat flakes on top. There was also some bacon, which was good, and some cold chunks of baby potatoes. There wasn’t any toast or muffins that we were aware of. There weren’t any eggs. We were told they didn’t get a delivery. There wasn’t a closet to hang clothes in or a dresser. There was an ugly metal rack to hang clothes on in one corner. We looked at other rooms that appeared to be very attractive and I suppose we were just unlucky but luck really shouldn’t be part of what you get. Other guests seemed to be very happy with their rooms. I believe we got the least expensive room that was offered, and at the time the last available, but IMO the room was way overpriced.

The staff at Mariposa is the best. They can easily be reached and the breakfasts were fantastic. We felt like we were at someone's home. It is a lovely home - quiet, convenient to downtown, and clean.

Cute little B & B! I like to stay away from the big hotels during COVID. Great location and food was excellent!

This place is awesome B&B experience!
This is a full-on retreat center! Well maybe not officially but seriously, we loved this place. Apparently this never happens but a baby bear walked into the backyard that overlooks a creek. We got a great picture. Notice the chairs in the back? We sat out there every morning. This is a B&B experience and the breakfasts were amazing! Ready right at 8am and unique every day. Best experience in years.

It was wonderful as usual. Food is extraordinary. Friendly host and very clean, quiet beautiful setting. I wanted to mention that the bed in our room (three letter name) sank in the middle some, but we slept fine.

Wonderful Steamboat B&B!
We got in late after a long drive to Steamboat and a clean comfortable room was waiting for us. We woke up from a great night of sleep to an amazing breakfast that got us ready for a day of hard skiing. The hosts had great advice for navigating town and the ski resort.

The lodge was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. What little contact we had with staff proved them to be friendly and professional. The breakfasts were a particular highlight.

We had the loveliest stay! The room was perfect! Comfortable, clean, relaxing. Close to town, and extremely beautiful. The breakfast was TO DIE FOR! Will anxiously wait for our next visit and will tell everyone we know about Mariposa!

For $287 for one night in a 'luxury' room, the only thing honestly represented was that it had a king bed. The room was extremely small. It was dark with no promised mountain view. The bed had no headboard, was shoved against a dirty window. The view was of overgrown shrubs and dirty windows. Very outdated. There was a very small shower with a shower curtain. The TV on the wall was about the size of my tablet screen. I could detect no air conditioning, and it was 90 degrees outside. I had to call the host on the phone, they are not available in person. She says she has no control over how her facility is described on 3rd party websites. We left, we did not stay. Since Steamboat was booked up, we had to drive all the wat back home. This ruined our anniversary. Don't go here.

Pam, I'm so sorry that the lodge and your room were not up to your standards. We take a lot of pride in our rooms and our property. We are a small family owned independent business and we strive to provide a unique experience to our guests from the time we spend working in the garden to our homemade breakfasts in the morning. We feel that the pictures/descriptions that are posted on Expedia and our other 3rd party are an honest and true representation of what our guests can expect when they arrive at the lodge. When you called and said that you were not happy with your room our manager Beth returned your call within minutes of getting your message and spoke with you directly to try and fix the situation. We offered to have you look and change to a different larger room, as a free upgrade. I'm sorry again that we could not resolve these issues with you.

Mariposa Lodge is a beautiful mountain B&B that is well thought out and super comfortable. Beth the Operator made us a delicious homemade Breakfast! The room was super spacious and the bathroom was huge! Big plus on the deep bath tub which includes bath jets. Check in was easy and communication with Beth was also smooth! I would definitely come back.

Our new favorite B&B
We always enjoy staying at B&Bs in Colorado for getaway weekends or ski outings. And Mariposa really was a perfect place to stay over the New Year weekend. I can’t rave enough about their food, their wonderful staff, very comfortable rooms, and idyllic location. We will definitely return.

Weekend away in Steamboat
Our weekend in Steamboat was a success and the Mariposa Lodge a good location to explore the attractions Breakfast was great with our only slight disappointment being the room which was looking tired and in need of upgrade. The larger rooms were better and would have provided more space but overall I would still recommend the lodge just try for one of the larger rooms!

The Mariposa was wonderful. Beth is a funny and gracious host, and an excellent breakfast cook. The sunroom was the perfect place to lounge in the afternoon after skiing. Cannot recommend the Mariposa enough!

Very nice pace for a few days get away!
Beth did an outstanding job with welcoming us. She called a few days before we were to arrive and ask if we had any food allergies. I have never had that happen before. Outstanding breakfast both mornings. Very clean B-n-B. I would highly recommend for a romantic get away.

Lovely setting
We so enjoyed our stay at the Mariposa. Our host was lovely, and enjoyable to chat with over a delicious home cooked breakfast. Endless supply of good coffee! Room and common area was clean, comfortable and charming. Will definitely stay again.
